Stayed at soho hotel for two nights was very excited to be in Auckland I was greeted kindly and I returned the same kindness back. There was some confusion with my details of checking in which was a slight change in the name nothing really changed just missing a hyphen the receptionist showed a rude appearance and brushed confusion and gave us a key and told us to take the elevator and our rooms on the second floor. Seeing our room I was impressed with the tidiness and cleanliness. Two single beds are twin beds. I went to the bathroom a hour in to checking in and realised the door wasn’t closing or not knowing how to keep the door closed. I rang the desk for help and in return the lady said she will get maintenance to resolve the situation we never heard a knock. One of my family members went down to collect more things from the car and went to the desk to see if the door could be resolved she was given a door stopper. 1 I was not impressed with a door stopper for the price we pay to stay. 2 the service from the reception desk that day was rude. 3 I approached the reception desk the desk morning with a gentleman on shift and he was very welcoming very helpful when I asked him about the hotel restaurant times. For me I thought service could have been better towards the customer needs.

They seem to focus on bar and entrance. Peeling wallpaper, Sheetrock seams visible, construction quality sub par. Balcony overlooks metal roof. Hot tub is cedar barrel with steps and rail made of scrap lumber. Floor on balcony stained black with floor boards loose and warped. Restaurant and bar were good.

Lovely clean hotel. Staff were very polite and helpful food in the restaurant we very nice and of generous portions. The only negative we found was the hot tub and balcony! We stayed in a spa room with a hot tub and balcony. Balcony was not very private and is overlooked by other rooms. The hot tub is not what we was expecting it was a very small wooden “tub” that was only for sitting up in so we could lie back and relax. If we seen the actual size of the tub when we were booking we probably wouldn’t have paid the extra price. Other than that the hotel was lovely and would stay again (but not in a spa room)

Hotel is brand new and modern, room looks great and bed is comfy. Poor noise isolation though so you hear everything happening on the road and even the hallway so I think best option is to ask for rooms not facing the road or freeway. Gym is amazing for a hotel gym, have everything you need. Staff was great but we didn’t benefit any VIP offers even after I asked. But would definitely recommend, for travelers it has a 24/7 laundromat 3minute walking distance from the hotel. Parking is very limited.

Really enjoyed my time here. Room was clean, had a great view and a nice little balcony! Staff were very nice and had an easy check in. Only downside was a house across the road had an event on and had taken up all street parking, they had also taken up all of the free motel parking so I had to pay an extra $50 to park outside the motel.

Not luxurious but hazardous

Within 2 minutes of being in the room, my friend slipped on the floor and hurt her shin. I running to her almost slipped as well. The floor had cleaning streaks and was extra slippery all over. I called for an ice bucket to ice her leg, they offered to mop the floor again but I asked to give my friend time to ice her leg and relax first. I went to take a shower and almost fell in the shower as it was also extremely slippery. The tv was pixelated as we tried to watch a game and relax. The lobby was all marble flooring and the ceiling was leaking also making it another slippery hazard. We decided to leave after 3hrs. I asked for a refund and the front desk told me to contact my booking site despite the many times I was almost hurt and my friend was injured.

The hotel was nice, the food was outstanding in Tiger for dinner could not fault. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Unfortunately, expedia showed the room i reserved as a excutive suite with features of a furnished balcony. I received a room with no balcony and window that had the meditation area directly on the other side. I informed staff i was not comfortable with that room and others being able to see directly in. They were responsive with a downgrade to another room. It did have a balcony and bath but not the suite i had looked forward to. I was offerred complimentary breakfast for my stay which i appreciated and understood the staff on could only offer that solution and appreciated their apology. I do believe they were looking into the website to correct that information so others did not have the sane experience.

The hotel was nice and the room was as advertised. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and the best part of our experience. However, the hotel is located in a part of town I couldn’t walk a few steps from without feeling unsafe. My son and I were almost mugged in the parking lot, no real views of anything but squalor, and when we were told that we had a complimentary breakfast, was later charged 140 NZD. Overall, much better places to spend your money for a nights stay.

It’s outside the main area of the city. If you’re catching a tour it’s not that convenient, but catching a taxi to Skt Tower is easy.

Property is far from luxury, floors in the room were slippery and coated in a film of grease like feel, the smallest draws and hanging space for clothes, roof looked like it was going to cave in, floors are uneven to walk on, our view was looking into a wood yard and car park from the executive suite, buffet breakfast all the hot food was cold, no hot eggs, over priced, bar prices were very expensive with limited range and ran out of coffee cups, skim milk. Would not recommend staying here.

Definitely not a luxury hotel, the property is in poor condition considering it is near new with alot of damage to our room that had not been repaired or not built right in the first place. Our room was very dirty with clogged shower drain marks and stains. The staff were friendly and the main lobby was nice. Not a great visit !
