Unnecessarily difficult holiday experience
Let me start by saying the actual property was fine. Fittings and fixtures were all good but it is being managed by a third party. This is where the problems start. We were traveling around NZ when the cyclone hit and I was trying to confirm that this property was still good and I never heard back. The day of our booking I got an email that I had to create another account on bachcare to get the info needed to check in. I wasnât able to do so until I paid a $40 balance that I had no clue where it came from. Then, once inside, the only info given was via QR code. I go on holiday to disconnect- not create new logins and scan this and that. Iâm assuming the additional fee I was charged was for linen which I think is ridiculous as well. Iâve travelled all over the world and never had to pay for linens when renting a home. All of this and proper maintenance isnât even being done. The bathroom had dusty floors, a moldy shower, the cutlery drawer was FILTHY and we were given an old, used sponge for washing dishes. Iâm sure Bachcare makes things easier for the owner, but as a guest- it was a terrible experience. Be warned!
