The property was perfect for a nice little getaway. Came prepared wit anything we needed and was very comfortable. Close to everything so it was nice to walk and drive around.

HORRIBLE! SCAM! House is on the market and had no furniture or beds. Someone was doing a viewing of the home when we arrived. DO NOT BOOK!

Our trip ended before it began. As the days closed in and I prepared for check in, there was no check in instructions and I decided to message the host to double check. I never received a reply but I thought, "maybe it's automated the day before/of." That never happened. We arrived and while driving to the property decided to call the host, no answer. We arrived at the home, the property looked exactly as it did in the pictures. We look to the front door, no sign, no note, just a keypad. I look through all the reservation information, no code. I called the host once again, no answer. Finally, I looked in the backyard, patio furniture strewn about, leaves everywhere. Nobody has prepared this property for rental. Fortunately when I called VRBO, a representative was able to help. Suraj called the host and was unable to make contact as well. Ultimately, he refunded my reservation and gave me some direction on how to get some lodging. This wasn't exactly easy as it was the Thursday before the US Grand Prix. Don't bother with this property unless you are very good at adapting travel plans on the fly. I'm thankful VRBO took good care of us, we were able to find a comfortable hotel, and we still enjoyed the race weekend; but I have never dealt with such negligent business dealings as the host of this property. 0/5 stars. Nice neighborhood though.

Nice, quiet, small

We spent the week of thanksgiving here and had a really nice time. The house is adorable and pretty well maintained. There were a couple issues with a clogged drain & thermostat, but they were quickly addressed & taken care of. The neighborhood is residential, quiet , and seemed quite safe. My biggest complaint would be that the house is really not equipped for more than 4 people. Dishes and kitchen items are lacking. It was not an issue for us, but if you are a light sensitive sleeper, this is not the place for you. There’s a lot of natural light that is impossible to black out. All-in-all very happy with this choice.

I am working to get my money back for this stay. Absolutely awful. To start - it was not cleaned when we checked in. Beds were a mess, towels all over the floor, like someone had just stayed there the night before. It says it sleeps 8, but more accurately, it sleeps 5. There are only 2 queen beds, and one couch. They did not even have enough sheets to sleep 6 people, let alone 8. We ended up having to get a hotel to house 2 of the 8 people in our group. There was trash everywhere outside, and none of the outside seating areas were usable. Covered in a thick layer of wet leaves that seems to have been there for ever. Do not rent this property. It is a rip-off. I hate being so negative, but I have never experienced a vrbo property that is so wrongly advertised and to be honest, filthy.

The pictures are definitely overhyped than what it actually looks like. The place wasn’t the worst but it wasn’t the best either. Definitely could have been better. The check in says 3PM and check out says 11AM- that’s not true. The property guy sent me a message saying It’s actually 4PM and 10AM. His communication is terrible. If you can find something better, I’d say look for something better.

NOT as advertised…

This property is a 2 bedroom house with a pull out couch in garage, not 3 bedrooms as advertised. It was not very clean, had no sheets for the pull out, no extra towels, had to request dish towels, dishes were dirty and had to be washed before we used them, and the showers were cold. I tried to communicate with property owner about showers with no response. I do not recommend staying here.

Inside was a mess. Nothing was changed. Blood stains and dirt stains on the sheets. Dirty dishes and trash was full.

Look elsewhere!! Couldn’t get in contact with the property manager..... uses an agency and they are closed on the weekends..... description says “sleeps 8” but there’s literally 2 beds and a pull out couch.... never gave us the access code for the door so we had to leave our belongings left unlocked... never gave us access to the wifi..... NEVER even got in contact with the property owner.. horrible experience. There are far too many other houses in Austin, pick a different one than this one!!

Chestnut house

Close to downtown; lots of natural light through upstairs bedroom that can’t be blocked ( if you need pitch black room when sleeping this room won’t work for you.) There were 2 coffee makers ( Keirug and regular) but no coffee or Kcups, nor sweetners, etc. , so you might want to bring your own. Decor and furnished very up to date.

Simple and easy, just what we needed

Came into town for a few days and needed a base for 3 of us to stay while working, this was ideal. Clean, easy, would definitely use again if in town.

Cozy property close to downtown

Good stay but cleanliness problems. Property manager was friendly and responsive. The location was great for our needs and plenty of parking in a decent neighborhood. This house is small but this is to be expected in this area so it’s not a diss and the pictures seem to accurately indicate the size. Cleaning (and I’m not personally concerns with cov disinfection, just normal cleaning) was good on the critical areas: bathroom, kitchen, linens and lacking elsewhere. Deep cleaning was absent. Crumbs under furniture and in furniture, stains on almost every carpets, pillows and cushions, windows covered with lots of fingerprints and cobwebs and the outdoor furniture a major perk from the pictures had not been cleaned in a long time. We spent 30 minutes scrubbing to get it usable. Then there was the ‘third bedroom’ which is a single car garage. Its a couch bed and the real living room of the place. It’s in the pictures no mystery, but the floor and couch were very dirty. The linens were missing and the manager promptly had a new set sent over. Props on the responsiveness! The other issue was the garage had no escape. The garage door had a combination lock, the window was fixed and too high to climb out and even more problematic the door from the house to the room locked on the house side. This means someone could get sleazily locked in with no fire escape. There was a foot stopper to prop the door open but kind of risky and if you do that lacks privacy. Some TLC and this place would be excellent.
