Now, about our beautiful Ammerland parkland...

I would be delighted to welcome you to the heart of the “Pearl of Lower Saxony,” the beautiful Ammerland! Bad Zwischenahn, a blooming paradise on Lower Saxony’s third-largest inland lake, not far from the East Frisian coast and the border with the Netherlands, is the ideal starting point for exploring Ammerland and its surroundings.
Like few other regions, the Ammerland park landscape boasts numerous beautiful parks and gardens, which can be explored via a well-signposted network of approximately 380 kilometres of hiking and biking trails.
Enjoy the diversity of the landscape as these trails lead you through blooming rhododendron parks, past tree nurseries and beautifully landscaped private gardens, through moorlands, or along the Zwischenahner Meer.
In addition, Bad Zwischenahn is also known for its health tourism offerings, its wellness facilities, and its culinary specialties.
Smoortaal and ham, Snirtjebraten, or kale with Pinkel are three of the many traditional dishes served in rustic restaurants. Visit “Twüschenahn,” as we like to call our town in Low German.
