Holiday like the royals! The Scottish Highlands have long been a "holiday home" to The Royals. There is a reason for this.
Dormie Cottage is almost 100 years old and is perfectly located within the backdrop of Mt Lochnager in Ballater - with the rolling hills and lush green landscape in front of you, it's easy to fall in love!
Whether you are coming for a round of Golf at Ballater Golf Club or spending some time enjoying the outdoors you will be in the PERFECT location at Dormie Cottage.

As you enter through the stone walls and private gates you will immediately be made aware of the incredible privacy of this property.
The natural light from the many windows and skylights in Dormie Cottage provides a light and comfortable feel, but also a cosy and warm environment. Lovingly remodelled in a contemporary traditional style, you are sure to feel right at home.
When the Scottish weather permits, enjoy outdoor dining by blending the indoor/oudoor living spaces by opening the large patio sliders of the living room to the backdrop of your large lush back garden and private patio area.

In the colder months, make sure you grab a bunch up of our freshly cut logs from our stacked and stocked log shed....prepare the fire, and cozy up for a relaxing and memorable night! The sound and smells of a crackling log fire are unbeatable and just one more reason why you should chose Dormie Cottage for your stay.

Walking trails, hiking, golf, mountain biking, skiing and other outdoor activities are all on your doorstep when you stay at Dormie Cottage. If you want to visit the Royal Family...Balmoral Estates is 5 minutes away and Balmoral Castle (where the Royal family stays) is only 15 minutes drive by car.

Located within walking distance of Dormie Cottage are cafes, restaurants and pubs. Make sure to check out the Old Railway Station...It might surprise you.

Also close by is the Historic Town of Braemar.

Depending on the time of year you are visiting. The Lecht and Glenshee Ski Center is only a stone's throw away making Dormie Cottage is the perfect location for your stay regardless of its purpose.

The cottage was beautiful, warm and cosy, there was plenty of wood for the lovely open fire.. It had everything that we needed.The bath was lovely to relax in after a days Skiing at Glen Shee. The town of Ballater was lovely with a good Indian restaurant and Chinese take away. We would definitely visit again.

What a GEM!

We loved everything about our stay at Dormie Cottage! It was perfect for us and the best part was the fireplace! This is a great place for two adult groups traveling together as the bedrooms are very private and on opposite ends of the house. It is accessible, has two great bathrooms with a full stocked kitchen. It has a great living area, both inside and out. It was so nice on a chilly day to roam the Scottish Highlands and return to a large kitchen and a warm fireplace! The house is set back from the road and is very quiet and peaceful. If you have the chance, book this place! You won’t be sorry!

Beautiful Cottage

How pleasantly surprised I was walking into this beautiful cottage.Everything was catered for. Everthing was to a high standard.I only stayed 2 nights would have stayed longer.Location was excellent and very quiet.The only advice I would give the host is to hold onto their cleaner . She did an excellent job.I will definitely return.
