Luxury Scottish Cottage, featuring "'The Artic Cabin"

Mayfield Cottage is based in the village of Ballater, which is nestled in the heart of Royal Deeside in Scotland
Our privately-owned, two storey holiday cottage is perfectly located in a quiet residential street but within walking distance of all the local amenities, so our guests can enjoy both the tranquillity of Deeside and easy access to all the local shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. If you are a golfer, we are just a four minute walk from Ballater Golf Club!

With beautiful contemporary Scottish interiors, Mayfield has two bedrooms, a family bathroom, lounge with log burner, kitchen, dining room and boot room.

Enjoying views of the Cairngorms and the surrounding area, we are dedicated to providing a luxury Scottish experience for our guests.

Outdoors, we have a front and back garden, with car parking, and an locked indoor area for storing sports and outdoor equipment.

Our decked patio area has a corner sofa with height adjustable table so you can relax outdoors and enjoy some local Deeside delicacies and tipples along with the (rare) Scottish sunshine!

Now, we know the Scottish weather can be slightly temperamental so
we have added a few special features so you can still enjoy the outdoors in all types of weather!

Our pine lined arctic cabin, boasts a fabulous indoor BBQ so you can holiday in style anytime of the year. Don't worry, there's also a treasure chest of cosy blankets to keep you warm if needed!

Additional features: central heating, double glazing, mains shower, freestanding bath tub, induction hob, washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, The White Company bedding and towels.

From the cottage there are many walks to explore - from the paths along the river, the recently opened Seven Bridges Walk and of course Craigendarroch Hill with it's spectacular views of Ballater and Lochnagar.

Ballater is just 7km from Balmoral Castle and Estate, the Royal Family's Scottish holiday home since 1852.

Ballater and Royal Deeside has the most stunning scenery and is an ideal base for hill-walking, cycling, fishing, golfing and many more outdoor pursuits.

Perfect!

Mayfield is a beautiful property which has been furnished to a luxurious standard. The arctic cabin was so much fun and really cosy once the bbq had been lit. With nothing to fault, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

Such a lovely place

We had the greatest time! The artic cabin was great with the snow falling outside. The house is very warm and cozy. Our questions were answered quickly. The town is beautiful/ frozen in time. Thanks again we hope to come back some day.

Delightful cottage

Warm, comfortable, clean. Real home from home. Superb layout, with great facilities. Luxurious bedding & towels. Perfect for our needs. Some lovely extra touches, including welcome hamper. Really good information booklet too. Will definitely choose to stay here again.

Great property!

Stayed here for two weeks and could have stayed longer! Really lovely property and had everything we wanted. The addition of an en-suite since booking was a lovely surprise. Garden great for relaxing in. We will definitely stay again.

Lovely long weekend

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful cottage. We enjoyed the walks and hospitality of Ballater and were able to enjoy the comfort of the cottage and unwind in the arctic cabin in the evenings. The host was extremely helpful also and replied to queries very quickly. Highly recommend.

Fabulous weekend

The house and gardens are even better than the pictures show. Everything was very clean and comfortable. All the facilities you might need are there for you. The Welcome pack was very much appreciated too! The decked area is an absolute sun trap and the Artic Cabin is the cherry on top - ideal for evening drinks or all weather BBQs. Nicely located for a short walk into town (5 mins) (Make sure you try the Ice Cream Shop!) or for touring the Cairgorm Natioanl Park. Fabulous!
