Cartron Cottage in Ballintubber, County Mayo, sleeps four in two bedrooms.

This single-storey property consists of an open-plan living space with a kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, dining seating for four and a sitting area with TV and woodburning stove. The bedrooms consist of a double and a twin bedroom, along with a shower room. Outside, there is a rear, side and front garden with tables and chairs, a parasol and off-road parking for three cars. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Apologies, no pets, and no smoking. For your convenience, there is a shop with 1.6 miles and a pub within 1.7 miles. Cartron Cottage is a charming escape for a countryside stay in County Mayo. It would also be the perfect setting for a bridal party getting ready for the big day, or perhaps for a couples romantic honeymoon.

Town: Ballintubber is a small village in Mayo known for Ballintubber Abbey. This quaint community is set against the Partry Mountains, ideal for walkers. Corley's Bar serves home-cooked meals and local ales, and a gas station and convenience store are nearby. Lough Carra, perfect for a stroll and picnic, and Moore Hall offer rich woodlands just outside the village. A scenic drive leads to Westport House and Saleen Lake. Castlebar is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. You can stroll or picnic in Mayo Peace Park and Castlebar Greenway. Rua Cafe and Delicatessen has sandwiches, salads, and pastries. Delightful Stay

We had a lovely time at Cartron Cottage. Kathleen could not have been more welcoming. She even came to get us when we got lost on our way. She had left a bottle of wine to help us settle in and there was home-made bread and marmalade for breakfast. Kathleen had thought of everything to make our stay perfect.The cottage is in a great location - 20 minutes to Westport and Castlebar and with easy links to Knock Airport, Sligo, Galway and Connemara, and yet in a very tranquil setting.Thoroughly recommended.

Mid week break

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Cartron cottage. We got the warmest Irish welcome from the lovely Kathleen, complete with the best home made brown bread and marmalade. The cottage was spotlessly clean and it contains everything you could possibly require. Thank you Kathleen so much for everything.
