Whether you visit during winter or summer, this dog and family-friendly condo near the famous Sugar Mountain Resort is the perfect retreat for an unforgettable lodging experience! Inside, elegant wood accents provide guests with a rustic, yet chic feeling the moment they step inside. An open floor plan combines the kitchen and living room together. Make sure to buy some groceries and goodies before your arrival and surprise your guests with homemade meals prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen. With modern appliances and utensils, it should be easy to let your creativity flow. The breakfast bar allows up to eight people to sit, however, if you're more into dining with a view, there's an outdoor dining area on the balcony. Back inside, the living room is a true delight when it comes to relaxation. Unwind as you snuggle on one of the sofas and stream your favorite Netflix series on the flatscreen TV. There are a couple of board games for an entertaining afternoon at home; Monopoly, Scrabble, and Candy Land can be found here. For a more thrilling afternoon at home, challenge your friends to a game of Guitar Hero using the Wii available. Additionally, the gas fireplace and the heated flooring in the main bath will keep you all warm if you visit during the winter months.

This location offers year-round activities no matter the season you decide to visit. Follow the footbridge that leads directly from the property to the slopes for skiing and snowboarding in winter. The resort also offers golfing in warm weather. A mile-and-a-half away is the Sugar Creek Gem Mine where you'll have the unique chance to mine your own gemstones! If you find one you truly like for yourself or as a gift to someone else, the on-site experts can craft it into a piece of jewelry. Make sure to visit High Mountain Expeditions, especially during summer, where you can challenge the rapids or zip line through the scenic mountain views at Hawksnest Ziplining. Visit the town of Norwood Hollow (a mile-and-a-half away) for dining options, grocery stores, ski rentals, and more!

Great place to stay. Newly renovated, nice appliances, plenty of cooking utensils, games to play, and parking for two vehicles. We have stayed in several Bee Branch condos and this was at the top of the list.

Great ski in/out amenities. Loved open concept. No lack of warmth with gas fireplace and bathroom heaters. The only drawback was the squeaky floors in the condo above heard in living area, and thankfully not in the bedrooms. We would definitely rebook this Rotten Dog Getaway. Great Getaway

We enjoyed our stay. The property is convenient to the ski slopes (although need to walk out the front door and around the back of the building). The condo was spacious and in good condition. This is a great ski in, ski out option.

Loved this well kept and super clean property. We had an excellent stay and enjoyed the local activities. Played golf at the Sugar Mountain course, which was absolutely gorgeous. Rode the ski lift to the top and enjoyed the perfect view. The alpine coaster was a blast too. What a great stay, everything we needed was on hand, just had to grab some nearby groceries.

Our Summer Break

Property was clean, and fully equipped, as we expected. The property manager was very helpful when checking into the unit, and responded quickly when we needed assistance accessing the streaming service. When we reported a frying pan scratched and unusable, they immediately contracted the owner who approved, not only a a frying pan replacement; but OK'ed the purchase of a new pots and pan set. It was provided the same afternoon. Very impressive!

Very nice rental especially being pet friendly! For snow skiing it is an AMAZING location, I don’t think you could get any better. The condo is as pictured but unfortunately not as clean as we would have liked. Numerous smears on microwave and fridge when we arrived. The dishwasher had dishes in it and a TERRIBLE smell so closed immediately and didn’t open again. Dishes and utensils in cabinets/drawers weren’t cleaned properly. I bring disposable plates, cups, etc to use for drinks and snacks just in case needed and I don’t cook so we eat out. Bed was comfortable and bedding was nice. Owners have a great mountain rental but cleaning service needs to improve. The owners provide a very nice place and deserve better cleaning. We did enjoy our stay and very nice location near restaurants and attractions.

Too Many Steps

Please allow renters know that there are many steps to the middle codos- Unpacking was very difficult as we had to back into a very dangerous parking area to avoid some staircases- The second bathroom needs updating- Cracked and missing tiles- needs a general remodel - For the price we paid for the rental I would not recommend this property-

Spring break family ski trip

Family of 5 (kids 8,10,13). Fit us fine. Beds were comfortable and the showers were hot. Used the crockpot so after skiing we had dinner ready. Kitchen has everything you need. WiFi worked great and the tv had Netflix and Disney+. Would stay here again. Careful if you have dog allergies, they allow dogs. They have a vacuum so we were fine. Isn’t a true ski in and ski out but a doable walk from condo. The condo is on the east street ski run which is good for beginners. Just beware that run wasn’t open the first 2 days of our trip once they got snow over night on top of them making snow they opened it up. Great location, short drive to sugar mountain ski lodge and 6 min drive to food lion.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! DISGUSTING HOUSE!

First, let me start by saying that I never leave bad reviews, EVER! After dealing with Vacasa on this rental I was left with a horrible customer service experience that has set this nasty review in motion!! We arrive to an absolute mess of a rental. The toilets have not been cleaned, there is unsanitary hair and urine on the toilet seats and pooled around the toilet base on the floor, the floors are unvacuumed in all areas of the rental, tables that have prior renters spills on them and sheets that were literally never changed. There were 6 of us and 2 towels. My first call to Vacasa 24/7 service (as they call it) was the night we got there. After numerous attempts and no contact back from Vacasa we finally got someone on the phone around 7:15. The customer service rep told me she would have fresh towels and sheets out immediately. Nothing ever showed up!! The next morning, I contacted them back again. We were promised compensation and fresh sheets and towels. The towels/sheets finally arrived a couple of hours later smelling like an absolute cigarette tray! I had to go buy detergent to wash the sheets on the beds and the 2 towels we had. Instead of using my vacation time to be on vacation, I used it cleaning this rental. Let me say, the rental itself outside of the uncleanliness was cute, nicely renovated and great location. Housekeeping needs tremendous work. Vacasa promised to contact me about compensation and never did. As I type this message I am on hold for a supervisor (after 32 mins). Supervisor has offered only the cleaning fees of a whopping $112.75 for compensation. While it is better than nothing, Vacasa and myself knows this wasn't sufficient enough for the mess my family and I had to go through in order to receive it. We will never rent a unit through this Vacation Rental Company again!!! Please let there be an upload spot for photos! I would be horrified if I owned this rental with the amount of money they are paying their rental management company and receiving this review.

Loved our stay in Sugar Mountain, the condo was the perfect size for my hubby and I and our two dogs. It was quiet and peaceful. Perfectly decorated with everything we needed. My only suggestion is black out blinds for the bedroom! Definitely would recommend and return!
