Beau Se Jour Cottage is minutes to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Enjoy this private location right on the Ocean with direct views of Acadia National Park.

Beau Se Jour is sited directly on Cadillac Mountain with views that are breathtakingly beautiful.

'Beau Se Jour' was 'designed and built' to be "reminiscent" of the 19th Century shingle style cottages which have been unique to Maine's seacoast.

Sun-filled rooms are tastefully decorated with vintage wicker and accessories. Birch bark railings, a gas stone fireplace, and a moose-horn chandelier give this cottage a distinctive look and feel of an "earlier time".

Relax on the comfortable, eat-in screened porch with panoramic ocean and mountain views.

This beautiful setting is perched on Frenchman Bay and has views of Cadillac Mountain and Acadia National Park from every window!

If you are a garden lover, you can enjoy many historical gardens: Asticou Gardens, Thuya Gardens, Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Gardens, Charlotte Rhodes Butterfly Gardens, Beatrix Farrand's home garden and Turrets Seaside Gardens.

Beau Se Jour offers a large master bedroom with a king size bed and private bath.
Large first floor bedroom has 2 full size beds. Both bedrooms have ocean views! Direct TV is in each bedroom.
(Master bedroom has a DVD with lots of movies)

Come and experience our crown jewel, "Acadia National Park" both at the Bar Harbor and the Schoodic Peninsula locations.

If you have time, you can visit Isle au Haut which is reached by Mail Boat from Stonington to Duck Harbor, "This is the remote part of Acadia", 6 miles from the mainland with 18 miles of trails.

We have Acadia trail maps and lots of local information to help make your visit a memorable one!

Acadia National Park passes: You can purchase an 'America the Beautiful' lifetime, annual or weekly pass. Passes are free if you are a Veteran.

Your pass provides access to over 2,000 federal recreation sites and all National Parks.
Acadia/National Park passes can be purchased online or at the Park entrances. Schoodic, passes can be purchased at the Campground entrance. On Mount Desert Island (Bar Harbor) you can purchase them at Hull's Cove Park main entrance on RT 3 or the new Acadia Gateway Center on Rt 3 in Trenton.

While visiting, enjoy a horse drawn Carriage ride, biking, hiking or walking on the pristine Rockefeller Carriage Roads which span 45 miles and have 16 beautiful stone bridges.

Enjoy Kayaking, Ranger Programs, a bus or boat tour to get a great overview of the Park and surrounding areas which are wonderful to explore. All this information will be at the cottage for you and we will send you information when we send directions and check-in information.

Enjoy Bar Harbor with its Victorian flare, and the many charming nearby villages and towns each filled with their own unique personalities.

We will be more than happy to help you plan your visit so you can get the most out of your time in the Acadia National Park region as we 'live and work' at Acadia so we can offer lots of places to experience and explore.

*Please note: Our weeks run "Saturday - Saturday" and have a 2-week maximum rental period.

We allow a well behaved pup with a small fee. (Please inquire)
We will send you our simple pet guidelines upon booking.
We are fairly lenient on size of your pup but must know if you are bringing your fur baby.

We require a signed rental agreement once you book your visit.

We offer a fairly lenient cancellation policy but suggest you consider trip insurance through VRBO (small fee) if you have any concern you might need to cancel if it does not fall during the full refund period.

Lovely Cottage with a beautiful view

We really enjoyed our stay at Beau Se Jour. Quiet peaceful serene setting overlooking the water with the most beautiful sunrise. There is so much to do within minutes of the cottage. Laura and Robert were wonderful hosts and their attention to detail made our stay one we will always remember. We had a fantastic, relaxing week with the family in Laura’s home. Communication prior to the stay was easy and quick. upon arrival Laura left us some goodies. The home had everything and was better supplied than most other VRBOs we have visited. The view was amazing and the rooms were large and welcoming. if we go back to Maine we will stay here again.

An Amazing Time

This is a beautiful large but cozy cottage with an incredible view! The home is very secluded but easy to find and get to! It’s super clean and organized offering guests everything they could possibly need. It is our favorite VRBO ever! The hosts are fabulous and offer wonderful help with places to see and things to do! They really personalize your experience and stay very available for any needs you might have! This memorable gem is in a location conveniently located to Acadia/Bar Harbor/ Downeast Maine! Peaceful and lovely

This cottage was just lovely from the moment we pulled in. The view is so peaceful and all the little quaint and special touches made it feel like home away from home. The cottage was very clean and well stocked and they also provided so much information for the area with things to do and places to visit which were so helpful. Laura was so kind and helpful with any questions and very quick to respond. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A Slice of Maine Paradise

Beau Se Jour is a special place. The pictures can’t do it justice. It’s very spacious and well stocked. Truly the quintessential Maine cottage. Worth every penny. Laura is a fabulous host who truly cares that you have a wonderful stay. My only advice is you will need to book this one early to get it, and you be glad you did! I’d give it 20 stars if I could.

The Maine Experience

The house was perfect in every way....like stepping back in time. The furnishings and whole aura are of a grander period of life...just beautiful. The view of Frenchmans Bay from every window are calming and serene as the tide drops and rises twice a day. We headed out on an adventure in Acadia National Park every day which is about a half hour away. We did it all but wers always happy to head back to the quiet and solitude of our rental house.

Great place to get away and rewind. House is very clean, full of charm and spacious. Views are surreal. Pictures don't do it justice. Location was great. Peaceful, away from summer crowds yet close to multiple attractions (MDI, Acadia, Southwest Harbor, Schoodic). Fabulous hosts! Laura and Robert truely care about their guests. They are very responsive to text messages and provided tons of information about local attractions and restaurants (our favorites Red Sky, Beals Lobster Pier and Mortons Moo Ice Cream). This is one of the best VRBO homes that we have stayed at. Beautiful views, cozy house, solitude, great hosts!

Coastal Maine Sanctuary

Our family of four had an amazing week at Laura and Rob's cottage. The cottage was cozy and ready for us when we arrived, complete with a homemade quiche from Laura cooling on the kitchen counter! It was delicious, too! No matter what we needed during our stay, the cottage provided it (extra pillows, an extension cord, paper plates, binoculars, area maps, fans, & a wine opener, to name a few). We took many day adventures during our stay (Acadia, Bar Harbor, Schoodic Point) and always appreciated where we rested our heads at the end of the night. Highlights of our trip included meeting Laura and Rob at Schoodic Point, seeing bald eagles soar outside of the cottage, hiking Cadillac Mountain with our kids, dinner at Havana, contributing to the cottage's heart rock collection, and making the trip to Gull Rock Pottery in Hancock. Absolutely stunning view with privacy

The weather wasn't the best for this week but if you had to have rainy weather, I can't imagine a better spot to be at. The house is well appointed with comfortable beds and beautifully decorated in a coastal theme. The view from the main bedroom upstairs is breathtaking in the morning, you do not have to get out of bed to enjoy it. It's equally dramatic on the first level and there are plenty of spots in the house to sit and read and still enjoy the view of the water. The screened in area would be a huge bonus when the bugs are out, fortunately the rain and cool temperatures kept them at bay for our visit. The waterfront/beach area can be accessed by a long set of stairs down to the water. It is very private and while there are a few neighbors, you don't really see the homes through the foliage. It really is a beautiful location.

Our beautiful stay

I can not say enough how wonderful our stay was at Camp Beau Sejour! The pictures on the website are wonderful, but they don’t do the real life cottage justice. It was spectacular, and away from the crowds at MDI Laura responded immediately to any questions we had preparing for our trip, and was as warm and caring as an old friend. She took care of so many details in the cottage, and we could want for nothing. The flowers outside were beautiful and so were the fresh cut flowers inside. The music playing when we came in was calming, and our furry family enjoyed the fresh water that she provided upon their arrival. We could have spent a full day enjoying the antiques, pictures, and crafts in the home. The house was spotless and the views couldn’t be beat. Laura, thank you for your hospitality and sharing your cottage home with us.

Short but oh so sweet

Although our trip was cut short, we had an amazing stay at Beau Se Jour. This is the quintessential Maine cottage, full of character and surrounded by natural beauty. We couldn't have picked a better vacation home. The views are surreal and the solitude is priceless. If you need to disconnect, this is your spot. Our host Laura was on point. Everything was carefully orchestrated and planned right down to the beautiful soft music left playing for us as we entered the cottage. It really set the vibe. We were delayed and arrived much later in the evening than originally planned. Laura stayed in touch to make sure we would have no trouble finding the place as we would be arriving after dark. The weather had turned pretty chilly that evening as well. With these things in mind, she thoughtfully made a trip to the cottage to turn the lights and heat on for us. It was so incredibly thoughtful and appreciated after a long drive. She even checked in with us to make sure we made it back home safely. These are the small touches that go a long way with me. The communication was excellent and it's apparent how much time, thought, and preparation Laura puts into each visit. We wanted for nothing. If we ever get the opportunity to return, we will definitely be staying with her again. Thanks Laura! Much appreciation!

Unbeatable views and perfect location for us!

Laura’s property was lovely! Laura is also very lovely herself. She was very attentive, helpful, and just genuinely wanted to make sure we were having a good time. The home was very well kept and cozy. The views from the property were surreal. We woke up every morning to watch the sunrise. We enjoyed taking walks from the property at low tide and also rented some kayaks that were delivered right to the property. Laura’s place is about 30-40 minutes from Bar Harbor and most Acadia hikes, but this is exactly what we wanted (as we find Bar Harbor a little too busy and tourist-trappy). There are a few quaint, but excellent restaurants nearby (Provender in Ellsworth and Ironbound in Hancock were our favorites). You are also not far from the Schoodic peninsula hikes, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We hope to revisit Laura’s place again soon!

Breath taking

Wonderful stay with family!

Most memorable trip

Beau se jour was comfortable, well appointed and clean. It has beautiful views in every room and screened seating, outdoor seating and indoor seating to enjoy these views. It is private yet also conveniently located to Bar harbor and Acadia national park. Laura was so helpful and responsive to any tourist questions we texted her. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Uncle Robert and Nate Birthday Extravaganza

Spectacular Stupendous Outstanding Gorgeous Fabuloso Magnificent Superbly appointed, extremely well provisioned with all of the necessary items for an outstanding stay. And extra items that could be necessary. Laura thought of everything. Our entire family enjoyed the celebration and my husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet for a day and the great beds and peaceful sleeps to wake to a beautiful view and the Full moon and the stars in the sky though the panoramic windows and skylights. Thank you for everything We look forward to coming again and also enjoying the house in little Gasparilla Island Florida in November.
