We enjoyed the close approximate distance to Acadia national park and attractions from our hotel. It was great to have a laundry facility on the premises. The staff kept us informed about the impending Hurricane approaching Bar harbor. We would stay there again.

Once I made reservations through Travelocity, Acadia Sunrise Motel contacted me to see if I was traveling with a pet (this place is Extremely Pet Friendly) and if we had any other needs. We requested a bottom floor room and we received what we had requested. The room was clean and cozy. Microwave, fridge and keurig with k-cups was provided. I would recommend checking fridge temp as we had to adjust the temperature, but worked great. Dirty laundry? Onsite laundry facilities. The grounds were very nice. Flower gardens were beautiful and raspberries tasty. There was a fire pit ring with several chairs around. We enjoyed a fire and smores while chatting with other travelers. Also there was a nice seating area with white wicker furniture in a marsh area where you could see and hear many different song birds chirping. Wonderful place to enjoy a few chapters of a book. An outdoor pool was clean and had a sturdy fence protecting small children from entering alone. A few gas grills are available for anyone, along with a few basketball hops and an amazing pirate ship play area for children. This was our first stay at Acadia Sunrise Motel and we will be staying for every future trip.

For travelers looking to explore Mt. Desert Island and the Schoodic Peninsula (Acadia NP), the location was great. Fuel, food and grocery supplies were available in Trenton, v. close to the motel. Rooms are clean and comfortable, not fancy. Kitchenette was great. We would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable motel with some great features

Pros: The spaciousness of the room; the pool; pirate-ship playground
Cons: Maintaining clean rooms
Location: Acadia--tons of hiking & biking at a mere 20 minute drive from this hotel! Also lots to see/do in Bar Harbor!
Overall our stay at the Acadia Sunrise was awesome. The room (1st floor w/2 double beds) was extremely spacious, clean upon arrival and had a fully-functioning kitchen. The hotel has a pool which is extremely clean & warm! The views of Acadia (& the airport!) from our room were incredible! The only negatives were that our room was not really cleaned regularly (towels left on the floor were exchanged for new ones), but the carpet was not vacuumed, garbage not taken out, etc. We have no problem disposing of our trash/recycling in the outside garbages, but they were overflowing for the 3 days of our stay. I'm being very specific in my comments so you can decide for yourself what's important....some of the things I mentioned aren't super-important to us, so we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Its a great value for the money!!

I am not sure why your trash was not taken out as that is always part of our daily housekeeping. I am limited to 300 words to respond. We did have a housekeeper that cleaned the first floor rooms that didn't do what she was told and was fired recently. That won't happen again.
