Buckle Bungalow-At the heart of MDI & near Acadia!

Nestled in the woods in the heart of Mount Desert Island, Acadia Woods Cottages are fully equipped 2 bedroom homes that are the perfect launching place from which to explore Acadia National Park and the surrounding areas.

Buckle Bungalow has two cozy bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, heat/AC, W/D, smart TV/high-speed internet, grill, screened porch, community fire ring, outdoor games, picnic pavilion and more!

Acadia Woods Cottages are just 7 minutes from the main entrance to Acadia NP and a short drive to nearly everything else on the Island. Or, leave your car at home and jump on the free island explorer bus. The bus stop is directly across the street and it can take you nearly anywhere on the island.

Other amenities that are easily accessible within a 5 minute walk include:

* Town Hill Market for coffee, baked goods, basic sundries and ice cream stand!
* Atlantic Brewing Company/Mainely Meat Barbecue
* Eden Pizza
* Brrrr Harbor Shaved Ice
* Town Hill Playground - considered to be the best on the island by many of the local children!

Cottage Rules

These Cottage Rules ensure a pleasant and comfortable stay for all our guests. We appreciate your cooperation.

Check-in/Check-out: 4:00 PM and 10:00 AM. This allows for a smooth and enjoyable arrival and departure experience.

Parking: Please park only in the designated space assigned to your cottage.

Smoking/Vaping: Strictly prohibited inside the cottage and in all common areas.

Quiet Hours: 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

Parties/Events: Prohibited.

Pets: Not allowed in the cottages or on the premises.

Open Flames: Prohibited within the cottage (e.g., candles).

Bathroom: Please use the dark towels provided for makeup removal. Do not flush anything except toilet paper. Hygiene products, wet wipes, dental floss, and diapers should be placed in the garbage.

Garbage Removal: Please use the designated bins and follow recycling guidelines.

Wildlife: Do not feed wildlife (deer, squirrels, foxes, wild turkeys, seagulls).

Rental Agreement: At least 7 days prior to arrival, guests must sign a rental agreement that outlines these rules and the associated security deposit.

Security Deposit: A $500 security deposit hold will be placed on your card one day prior to arrival. Assuming the cottage rules are followed, the security deposit is released one day after check-out.

Note: Violation of these rules will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit and may result in immediate eviction without a refund.

We really enjoyed our stay at Buckle Bungalow. The cabin was great space for us, very clean and functional, having laundry was a big plus too. Reminded us a lot of cabins we stayed in during trips to Table Rock Lake in Missouri, but much newer and nicer! It is a great location to get to Acadia NP and Bar Harbor, but was away from the crowds a bit, which was nice. First time for us being in Maine, but we would love to bring more family and come back for another trip someday!

This property exceeded all expectations. It was like a showroom when you entered. Well designed, smelled fantastic, was exceptionally clean and literally looked brand new. The style was perfect, quality of bedding, dish-ware and all decor was perfection. All furniture was comfortable and clean. Everything was well thought out and labeled. Binder with info on amenities and area. Location was fantastic only a quick 8 min drive to Hulls Cove entrance of Acadia and 10-12 min to Bar Harbor. We will come back!! I would highly recommend!!!

Clean cabin and great location

The cabin was perfect for our family of 4. We used the common area for ping pong and cornhole. The location was great for getting in and out of Acadia NP and Bar Harbor as well as the Southwest Harbor. The store across the street has almost anything you could need during a stay and the brewery and bbq were walkable just down the street. This is in a group of 10 cabins that are spaced well and do not look directly at each other. There is a host available for any needs you may have during your stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Location

I had down research before booking my trip and was disappointed that lodging in Bar Harbor was booked up so I had to look further out. I’m so glad it turned out how it did! This was so much better. Bar Harbor was crowded and touristy and a little kitschy. This cottage was located in a quiet location where you can sit on your porch and listen to the birds and tree rustling and look out at the stars. It was a nice haven from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. We enjoyed playing ping pong and making s’mores on the fire pit. The house itself was impeccably maintained.

Great Place to Stay!

The cabin was clean, location was great, about 15 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor. If you're looking for peace and quiet, yet close enough to great dining and shopping, then this is the place for you.

New, beautiful 2 bedroom cottage

The cabin was very nice. It was off the road, so no road noise. It was esthetically nice as a well-built traditional carpentry pine cabin throughout. Well equipped kitchen. Nice screened in porch. Very clean. I would return if going back to Arcadia. It is a little ways to Bar Harbor and southern end of the island but well located to other hiking. We loved it.

Weekend getaway

Great location. Wonderful property and accommodations. I highly recommend staying here when visiting Bar Harbor. Close to everything while offering a quiet place to relax away from the busy-ness of other tourists.

Great Location to visit Acadia

Our place was very clean and cozy. The location ended up perfect as Bar Harbor was very busy but we were far enough out to not be troubled by it. The Brewery/BBQ across the road was perfect for us with good beer, food, and an enclosed play area for our kids to play in while we relaxed and had some beer. 100% would stay here again.

Cute as a button

Buckle Bungalow was a cute and cozy place to stay. The all wood cabin seems brand new. The cool air from the air conditioner works in the bedrooms only if you keep the doors open. We were pretty active on our trip, but it was always nice to come back and chill in the bungalow. I thought it was a great value, compared to the alternatives in peak season. All in all, I'd highly recommend.

Fresh new cottage in a convenient spot

Our family had a joint vacation/college tour in Maine. Chose this spot as close to the colleges we were touring as well as Acadia NP. Cottages are new and have everything that you need, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms (could sleep 4) sitting area, screened in porch and modern amenities like wifi and AC. Check in and check out was easy. We didn’t have any issues but there is a camp host on site. Definitely would stay again and recommend it

Perfect Bungalow For Summer Vacation

The bungalow was perfect for our family of 4. The location was great you are close to amenities but far enough off the main road that you had the feeling of seclusion. The screened in porch was great for sitting out after a long day of sightseeing and not having to worry about bugs. Our children enjoyed the all the games that were available. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with all the needed supplies. Worst part of the bungalow was having to pack up and head home. Everything was just wonderful. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that wants to go to the Bar Harbor area.
