This property was very convenient and close to downtown Bar Harbor and was an easy 30 minute walk about a mile into town. The only thing that was lacking with this hotel is that we found out that our section of the hotel did not have an elevator which was little surprising when arriving because I don’t think it has stated on the website. So not exactly fun to be looking your luggage up and downstairs. The rooms were clean and a little outdated but for all the hiking and outdoor activities we didn’t really care about the aesthetic of the hotel too much. We will definitely be back!

The room and building that we were in were very clean and comfortable. We did not have an ocean front room but still had a view of the water from our window. The onsite restaurants were nice and offered great views. We enjoyed sitting on the chairs by the water enjoying the relaxing view. We felt the hotel was centrally located to all of the things we wanted to do and see while visiting and definitely want to plan another trip.

The hotel was beautiful. You can utilize the trolley, but we didn't. Bar Harbor is beautiful. Lots to do and see. A must visit for everyone.

The place was well kept, landscaping was very well done and the interior was clean and modern. I can’t quite get over an undeserving conceited attitude from the front desk staff that was consistent across different staff members. The hotel was good across the board, but it wasn’t so good that I felt like I need to thank them for letting me stay there. I failed to follow their rule to remove the door hanger overnight that tells the staff to skip the room cleaning the following day. In the morning I realized my mistake and asked the front desk if the room could be added to their list to clean. The aforementioned conceited attitude was evident when she told me that she would take care of it, but the room was not attended to when we returned later that evening. Not too big of a deal overall, but I had to get the staff to set us up with some towels to get through to the next day and that bothered me. Now that it’s off my chest, the place was good. I had a breakfast package and the restaurant served a good breakfast all 4 day. I’d stay there again.

I enjoyed the view from our room, it was outstanding! The breakfast service was a bit hit and miss--sometimes the staff was attentive, at others they were not--there was one Jamaican woman who served at breakfast who was terrific and friendly, but the others were "meh". Room service was very good, grounds were perfect, loved the pool and hot tub.

This property has a jackpot of a view for Acadia! The back of this hotel is absolutely stunning! It a quick 4 minute drive into town for all the shopping and dining without having to be “in the chaos.” This is the second time we’ve stayed here and now it is newly renovated with beautiful rooms. The staff was also super helpful and accommodating for us with our baby. 10/10 this time! Highly recommend. No idea why it’s rated the way it is. I would tell all my friends to stay here just for the access to the waterfront and the view!

We had the most beautiful ocean view room. The hotel has been completely remodeled. It is beautiful ! Fresh flowers adorn the lobby. The grounds are gorgeous. You can walk out to the pier in the morning and enjoy the sunrise. Very good location to explore Acadia National Park and the town of Bar Harbor. There are many dining options close by. The staff was friendly. I wish I had more time to just sit by the pool and enjoy the view. Wonderful hotel.

We went here on our honeymoon and it was absolutely beautiful. They even left us a bottle of wine some chocolates and a lovely note upon our arrival. The restaurant on site is delicious. We did not try the lobster Pound but it looked really good as well. The pool and the hot tub were a great area to relax after long days of hiking in the park. We highly recommend as they also have free shuttles that stop at the hotel as well that go into bar Harbor and the various areas in the park.

Our initial room faced the water and would have been excellent were it not for four large AC and other electrical structures obstructing the view. I am sure there must have been other locations where they could have been place without ruining the view of an otherwise excellent room! The staff offered a room facing the street as a replacement at the same rate (in excess of $500.00). I refused and contacted Holiday Inn Customer Service. After a few hours of back and forth, I was offered another room the following day. It was not near the quality of the first room (except it didn't have an obstructed view). Had we not been near the end of my first day and the next two days committed to "pre-paid" tours, I would have refused the hotel offer. But, we didn't come to Bar Harbor to spend unnecessary time looking for an alternative hotel. Very disappointing!
