If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. The Barn at Ryepark House is set on 11 acres, along with our farmhouse and one other one-bedroom cottage. The whole site is pet free and adult-only and each property is private.

Travel down our long farm driveway through farmland to discover this beautifully converted light and spacious one-bedroom barn providing luxury accommodation perfect for those relaxing, romantic breaks.

The Barn at RyePark House is peaceful and yet just a short distance from Barnstaple. RyePark House is surrounded by pasture and overlooks an ancient wooded valley with a babbling river, making it a perfect base both for those wishing to just relax and enjoy the Barn, its surroundings and the beautiful walks from the doorstep and those wanting to explore everything North Devon has to offer from the wild beauty of Exmoor to the beaches of the ‘golden coast’.

With exposed beams, vaulted ceiling and stunning stone walls, the barn combines the timeless beauty of the area with all the essentials of modern living. Boasting a private hot tub (at no extra cost) great after a busy day, FREE Wi-Fi both SUPERFAST and unlimited and the luxury of underfloor heating. We aim to make the barn feel like a ‘home from home', everything you need is provided- including, several pantry items all linen (100% Egyptian cotton), soft towels, robes and slippers. Fresh flowers and a great hamper on arrival all included.

The large open plan interior includes a fully fitted kitchen with Neff appliances including a dishwasher and washer/dryer, high standard ovens with proofing draw for those who fancy spending some time baking, a dining area, with seating for 4, and a cosy lounge area providing two comfy sofas, large flat screen internet TV with sound bar and a traditional electric wood burner, perfect for those quiet relaxing nights in (board games provided!).

The bedroom leads off the lounge and is a calm and peaceful room with a king-size bed with luxury mattress and plush bedding giving you that peaceful night’s sleep you’ve been looking for. Additionally, the en-suite wet room has a large walk-in power shower with rainfall attachment, heated towel rail and underfloor heating. Outside on the terrace, you will find the private hot tub, (emptied and refilled for every visitor) table and chairs for alfresco dining and more comfortable rattan furniture.

Stay at the barn and just relax in the calm atmosphere and reconnect with nature. Take a stroll through our nature reserve or along the riverbank, up into the wood or stop at one of our picnic areas. On your way pause and have a cuddle with our hand raised, tame sheep! And in the evening curl up on the comfy sofas with a good book or watch a film, followed by a peaceful soak in the hot tub and, as Exmoor National Park is an International Dark Sky Reserve and home to some of the darkest skies in the country, gaze up at the stars, really special and quite spectacular.

The location is stunning and unique with the feeling of being away from it all but really being just a short drive from everything. RyePark House sits in 11 acres and the Barn is completely self-contained it forms part of an old stone farmyard with the owner’s farmhouse situated next door, so you have the reassurance of help should you need anything, privacy is always guaranteed

What a fantastic find! Clean, luxurious, perfect retreat for a few days of relaxation. Excellent communication with Maria who was extremely helpful with information. Easy to find following her directions and straightforward check-in. The welcome hamper with local produce was most appreciated. Comfortable beds and the hot-tub was most welcome after long walks. Games were available. Recommended.

Anniversary Break

What an excellent break we had. Property in a beautiful rural location but need to be prepared for very narrow roads with limited passing places. Property had all we needed and a few extras. Welcome hamper and anniversary wishes were a lovely touch and the hosts so hospitable and friendly (including the animals). Really enjoyed the local visitor attractions (Zoo, Gardens, Coastal beaches and walks etc) and another highlight was just relaxing in the hot tub and looking at the wonderful night sky). Shame it was only for a week as could have stayed much longer. Thanks for everything.

Quiet Getaway

A beautifully presented property in a quiet rural setting, perfect for a few days peace away from it all. The Barn is extremely well equipped, warm and comfortable. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing after long walks in the Devon countryside. We would love to return some time, and highly recommend staying here.

Stunning Property

Great welcome. Clean and well equipped property. Super quiet but easy to head out all over North Devon and beyond. Hot Tub is excellent and very private. When the skies a clear, amazing view of stars as in a dark sky reserve. Highly recommended. Great comms and well looked after by owners.

Heaven on Earth!!

One of the best places it has ever been our pleasure to stay at! Our hosts Maria & Steve are "good people"! When we arrived, Maria was there to greet us. She took the time to get to know us and showed us around, explaining everything we needed to know. "The Barn" is very clean, organized, tastefully decorated and super homey. Lots of personal touches to welcome us! There's a very well organized binder full of useful information, little laminated notes all around to explain things. Also, there's a good selection of books about Devon. The kitchen is fully stocked and also has an excellent view! The bathroom has a great shower and there's great water pressure. The bed was super comfortable! A door from your bedroom leads onto a private patio area with a wonderful hot tub!! On our travels, one of our rental car's tires developed a slow leak. We asked if Steve had a tire pressure gauge. From that day on, every single morning, Steve was out there checking our tire and topping up the pressure for us. Thanks Steve! You went above and beyond!! There's a little path right off their driveway down to a little winding stream. It has a nice little trail on the other side of it that we enjoyed meandering along while enjoying the peace and tranquility. The location and the views are idyllic! This is the kind of place I'd happily spend the rest of my days in. Nothing negative to say about it at all! We highly recommend staying at "The Barn". You'll be glad you did!!

Perfect Honeymoon destination

The property was well thought out - it had everything you would need. It had beautiful grounds and was very peaceful. The owners were so friendly and approachable and we were given plenty of privacy. we loved the fact it was no children (we had left ours behind) and we really appreciated that. The location was perfect for getting to so many beautiful sites. Cannot thank you enough - and we will definatley be back

Just perfect

We enjoyed a peaceful few days at this perfect cottage - beautifully and fully equipped, cozy and comfortable. We went for walks in the woods, visited RHS Rosemoor, stargazed in the hot tub, and played fetch with Beans, the dog. Just perfect!

A Home Away From Home

Weekend getaway with a city loving

My partner and I had the most opulent stay at Maria’s barn house. We couldn’t have asked for a more idealistic English getaway that felt perfectly secluded and romantic while being a stone throw away from the most tranquil seaside towns. Maria and her husband were warm and welcoming hosts who truly went above and beyond whether it be getting us up close and personal with the sheep or recommending the most sublime locals eats. The barn house itself was so perfectly cosy and luxurious that it was hard to detach ourselves for most of our stay (or the hot tub). Once you have experienced a nighttime soak looking up at the most crystal clear skies in the UK, every other stargaze will frail in comparison. I couldn’t be more thankful for our time and shall be eagerly awaiting our return.

Lovely luxury break

We absolutely loved our stay here. The barn was even better than the photos, so clean and stocked with everything one would need. Maria and her husband were great hosts. Perfectly located for exploring North Devon, all the best beaches and towns within a 20-30 minute drive. Hot tub was amazing at night looking at the stars. We would definitely return!
