Excellent Service, Accomodations, & Location
Pros:Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, great personalized service from the staff
Cons:a few housekeeping/maintenance issues
I stayed at this hotel for the first time in late September, 2012, and was so pleased with the personal service and the quality of the hotel that I decided to stay there again in October. The staff is welcoming, polite and friendly, and will do most anything to make your stay enjoyable. A very ample breakfast buffet is normally included in the price of the room, making it an even greater value for the traveller.
Most of my experience with this hotel was delightful, however the areas where I had problems were in maintenance. In each of the two rooms that I stayed in, I had problems with some of the fluorescent bulbs either being dim or not working. I called the front desk, and within minutes someone was at my door to make the needed changes. The other area that I think needs attention is in the fitness room on the Terraza floor. There were three treadmills present and none of them worked. Also, there were normal cleaning and maintenance needs there, that I feel should be taken care of daily. Even though the fitness area has a desk for an attendant, there was no one there. During my visit, I needed to drink water from the cooler, but there were no cups to drink from, so I had to call the front desk for this. Once again, someone came immediately to fulfill this need.
I used the hotel's laundry service several times during my visit. The service was excellent and most of the time, the laundry came back clean and folded the same day that I sent it. It is slightly expensive, but well worth it for the convenience.
Overall, I had a great experience staying at this hotel. It is in an ideal location near many local restaurants & bars from McDonald's to El Varadero, Cachao, and Wepa. I would highly recommend it to other travellers visiting Barranquilla.
