We had a very good stay at hotel Marthof. My only objection is that the twin beds were very narrow and undersized.. It would be nice to have two full-size beds in a room and also I did not get a bathtub although I had asked for one. The staff was wonderful and the hotel is clean and well located with good service

Old Meets New

Lovely hotel in the heart of town. Great service all around and front desk staff extremely helpful. Room and bathroom clean. Room well equipped to charge all electronics. Only used restaurant for breakfast; both buffet and a la carte choices were good. Nice bar area. Would definitely stay again for all these reasons.

Location, serene luxury and super friendly staff

A beautiful building, tastefully updated in the best location in Basel. Was a nice surprise to get the VIP of the day treats. The plate of seasonal fruits and the hand written postcard are those little things that make the difference. Sending over 200 nights a year in 4 or 5 stars hotel in Europe and the USA I AM pretty sure excelente is on the detalles. Our room, overlooking the Rathaus and Markolatz was superb. Great amenities from Molton Brown. Special thanks to the Dominican lady taking care of our room every day and to David, at front desk for his effort to try get a parcel delivered to me. No luck at all with PDP but he was very kind and did his best. Despite not having an indoor pool at the spa, the top floor terrace with 360 degree views of the city is superb. Breakfast is delicious too. Would definitly come again and highly recomend Maerthof Hotel.

wonderful old town hotel

This was an amazing hotel. From the time we were greeted to the time we left. They helped us with renting E-Bikes and gave us a map. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The restaurant and breakfast in the morning was wonderful. I would highly recommend staying there.

A long weekend holiday

A stylish hotel with great views from the terrace. Fitness centre was clean and had good equipment and a proper sauna (even for a Finn) and a steam room, too. Ate once at the Bohemia - lovely food and decor.

Excellent hotel; very modern and new. Only drawback was the check-in. Our flight arrived at 10 and we were at the hotel at 1045. Staff said room was ready as there is a queue for cleaning. I do understand that, but we finally got our room at 2PM. It would have been nice to perhaps bump it up for people waiting. Otherwise, hotel was excellent, food in the restaurant was lovely, in room massage was great. Staff was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.
