Great hotel and friendly staff. Fantastic central location for visiting Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, seahouses and Alnwick. Food was great, especially the breakfasts. Comfortable room overlooking farmland with Bamburgh castle in the distance. We stayed for 3 nights and will definitely come back at some point.

Horrifying bathroom

Stayed here for 1 night with my sister and son. The receptionist was unfriendly.The bedroom was very outdated with cheap 1960's furniture. The bed rolled, the sink taps wouldn't close properly and the toilet seat was cheap, flimsy and looked like it was on it's last legs. Bathroom. The bathroom was clean BUT the shower was terrible. I washed my hair which took ages because the showerhead only let out a trickle. I was literally crying as i stood underneath that trickle because the shampoo took ages to wash out. I have shoulder length hair just for reference. I don't know who or what clientele found this hotel excellent but I certainly found it below a 1*. I think the previous guest heads need checking. Breakfast. The server was very nice and pleasant but the breakfast was all deep fried- the veggie sausage was from the 50's when they didn't even have vegan food. It were a broccoli and carrot sausage. This hotel is a truckers stop only. Expect the bare minimum. Left as soon as daylight hit.

Second visit and we will be back!

We stayed here last year and booked again for this year, and it didnt disappoint. Its in a great location off the A1, perfect for Northumberland or as a stop off for Scotland. The staff are genuine, friendly and so helpful. The breakfast is just fantastic, all cooked to order; tasty and well presented.

Good value for money stay. Friendly staff. Exterior seating area too small, shabby, and right next to the A1 and adjoining lorry park. Limited relaxation area away from a very small and limited interior. Didn't detract from our stay though and would visit again

Perfect location for exploring Bamburgh and the surrounding area. Also ideal location for overnight stop being directly off the A1. The hotel provides a good breakfast and has a good choice of evening meals including vegetarian options.

Pleasant stay, comfortable room, good breakfast

The room rate was great for the area. Beds were comfortable and overlooked fields of wheat, and views of Bamburgh castle in the distance. Considering the location next to a busy road it was quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful when a bath mat was requested. Beds were comfortable and the room had all the basics. Bathroom was small but nothing out of the standard for a hotel of this price bracket. I had the cooked veggie breakfast which was tasty and a good sized portion.

Nice break

We ate in the cafe instead of the restaurant and were pleased with the food and cleanliness. Location is excellent being right on the A1 but no road noise was heard.

Great location for Bamburgh, Holy Island and Alnwick. Great view from our room too and got to watch the Housemartins fly. Friendly staff and great food for breakfast and if tou fancy dinner too. Just a shame there was no pressure for the shower and no plugs by the bed!
