Great service and good food. Pizza place established since my last visit and was excellent. Beautiful indigenous flora. Loved the balcony set up, hammock and river view. Only desire not met was, comfortable lounging chair and footstool in room. Lots of rain so additional drains may be needed. I wore lot of flip flops so ok with getting wet feet but some guest may be apprehensive.

This property was amazing! First off, it was beautiful! The setting was serene, tropical, calm and relaxing, the pool, the grounds, the room, even better than pictured. The restaurant food was delicious. I had read a few reviews saying the prices were high, but we felt they were very fair, especially with the quality of the meals. The staff was compassionate and made you feel like you were on vacation. One evening I had a minor health concern that required a doctor. I was so worried, being in a foreign country. As soon as we went to the front desk they Called a doctor for us and drove me to see them. It was all taken care of quickly and I felt very safe. The manager messaged to check on me and was waiting for us when we got back. I’m sure all the rooms are beautiful, but we felt like we really lucked out by choosing the Mountain View room. It did not disappoint! We didn’t want to leave! The staff is definitely there to make your stay enjoyable! Highly recommend!

I have been there 3 times in 3 years and is getting better every year. So beautiful so relaxing and well maintained. Their restaurant is probably the best in Belize. Plenty of activities to do in the property, they also organize day activities outside the resort. If you find something to complain about this place stay home next time.

One of the most beautful well layed out resort I have ever seen . the grounds are are a botanical garden , w/ duck, turtle, fish, ponds & fountains, unique pool /hot tub , river access, mountain overlook , walking/ biking trails, off site excursions, and more. The staff and food are excellent . The rooms are wonderful, quite & relaxing. You need to spend at least 2 days or more to take it all in. It is an unbelevable value . I would definitely visit again!

First time to Belize

Pros: cleanliness, staff, grounds
Location: excursions are awesome, ATM would highly recommend
I did a lot of research for our trip to Belize and just really couldn't find a place that seemed more appealing in our price range than Sleeping Giant. I was not disappointed. First, I'll say that we are the type of people to rent a car so we have a mode of transportation to explore, but at the suggestion of the hotel manager we decided to go with the hotel car service. I am SO GLAD we took her advice. Our flight was delayed and we got there after dark and there is NO WAY we would have ever found it. Worth the money. The hotel is incredible, the staff is fantastic and our Casita (#6) was just absolutely adorable. Very romantic. We did the ATM tour which was phenomenal, but make sure you are up to the task, it is pretty intense! We also did horseback riding which was cool to go through the Rainforest and the crop fields. Definitely hike up to the gazebo on-site, the view is to die for! We absolutely loved this hotel and if we ever come back to Belize we are staying here again! You will not be disappointed. Oh, but last thing, on our way into the hotel we asked the driver to stop at a convenience store and we picked up snacks and beer. Belikin (beer) is $3 BLZ ($1.50 us) at the local stores, so it's way cheaper to get some for your room, and also nice to enjoy on your back porch hammock :)

Beautiful resort with amazing views

Pros: The rooms and the views were amazing.
Cons: GET BACKUP GENERATORS! Lack of electricity can ruin a vacation.
Location: We went cave tubing nearby and it was fun but a bit pricey. Other excursions were offered but they were all rather expensive.
We had a somewhat bad experience. After travelling a full day to get to the resort, we could not wait to have a shower, a good meal, and a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, the power went out shortly after we arrived and was not restored for a full 20 hours. The heat and humidity were unbearable and without air conditioning, we got no sleep the first night. The water is pumped to the rooms so without electricity, we had no running water, and therefore no shower. We did get a decent meal, but we felt the staff was not being honest about the power situation. First we were told a "pole fell down" and it would be restored in 30 minutes...then an hour...after that we didn't get any updates. Turns out a pole did not fall down. We could not believe (as most of the guests we talked to) that there were no backup generators. Without a car, there is not a lot to do unless you are willing to spend a lot of money for excursions. There were kayaks but the paddles were broken. We were told they were getting new paddles but we didn't stay long enough to see them. Our 2nd day we went on an excursion and after several hours of tubing, we were hungry and tired. Our return to the hotel was delayed an hour because there was a truck "blocking the driveway". We discussed these issues with the staff and were told we would receive a refund for our first night's stay. However it has been 8 days since we left and we still have not received credit. I am not confident we will see it.

Fantastic getaway in the lush tropical jungles!!!

Pros: Just about everything was amazing. Construction is in progress so I am sure that it will only get better. The pool and river were nice!
Location: Nestled (maybe buried) in the lush mountainside, the lodge is a perfect secluded getaway. Close enough for day trips to most of the Belize sites.
Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge was truly an unforgettable place. We were fortunate to be placed in the largest and highest room offering amazing views of the river valley below, a walkout shower, and a fantastic patio with a hot tub. It even had 109 steps to climb each time you went to your room so you are sure to get your daily workout in as well. The staff was so helpful, nice, and really enjoyable to talk with over a couple drinks or during a meal. All the meals that we ate on site were fantastic. This is truly a one of a kind location and should definitely be included in a trip to Belize.
