The photos make the property look larger than it really is. Iâve seen cruise ship bathrooms larger than this one. The kitchen sink faucet seemed like it was going to come off at any moment. But the owner was very friendly and enthusiastic so that was nice.
This could be such a lovely place, itâs centrally located, and has some nice historical details such as wooden beams, but it needs some help to be a good place to stay.
Main issues: The place was really, really dirty. Every surface was covered in dirt and dust, the floor had food embedded into it, there was dirty cutlery in the drawer with the clean silverware, an empty syringe wrapper in the bed room, a book tossed in the fake plant in the corner, crumbs all over the sofa (not just the floor, which was bad enough), and a moldy coffee filter in the coffee maker. Because the place does not have a vacuum or mop etc, getting the place clean took even longer. At least we got the cleaning fee refunded.
To make the place more livable, and add some basic functionality it would really benefit from the following improvements:
Install proper heating throughout
Closet space/cabinets for unpacking the suitcase
Fix up the bathroom by removing the mold and installing a working shower/bathroom separation
Fix the door between the bedroom and living area so it closes
Add a trash in the bathroom
Misleading descriptions
No fitness area (thatâs misleading to post as an amenity)
Laundry is shared and has a schedule so you cannot just jump in
Donât just offer lip service when your guests complain about something, actually do something about it, offer to send somebody to clean, proactively address issues. I felt at times as if we were dealing with AI rather than a person.
