The hotel’s location is ideal to reach most parts of Berlin. Clean, friendly, and simple. We have enjoyed our stay. Do not expect luxury but do expect a great price service balance.

The property is great with very nice staff. Stayed for seven nights and they just left me to it. I like a low-key hotel without constant knocking etc. There coffee shops/bars and restaurants around if you want to stay close. Getting around town is easy with u-bahn and S-bahn nearby. Fab hotel.

1) Great breakfast 5/5 2) Very Central Location 3) Horrible washroom for all 5 of us 4) Pls install glass or plastic shower doors instead of that stupid shower curtain. Water was all over the washroom floor when taking showers. 3) No counter space or shelves in the closet size washroom. 4) Parking downstairs was super tight for our minivan 5) No elevator going up to reception Had to carry our suitcases up the stairs

The hotel itself is pretty good overall. The pillows provided are far too soft for my liking, no firmness to them at all. The floors and walls are quite thin so footsteps are very audible in the room, there was always some sort of banging going on, and there's often people shouting and talking loudly outside on the street. It doesn't help that my room was above the entrance and people were loitering around it at night, thus being loud. The area lets it down as it's very sketchy at night. There's multiple prostitutes and their handlers under the train bridge and the adjoining streets that will and do approach you every time you pass by, which if you're coming back from the city centre then you will pass them.

Accommodation costs

When I checked into the hotel on April 23, I was surprised to find that I was being charged 31% more than the price I had booked through Hotels.com. When I showed my reservation documents, two staff members worked on the computer while conversing in German, a language I do not understand, right in front of me. Eventually, the amount was adjusted to match the price I had booked online. Additionally, when I paid in cash, I requested a receipt. I was told it would be provided at checkout, but since this was a cash payment and not a card transaction, I insisted on receiving the receipt immediately, which I eventually did. Because of this experience, my first impression of Berlin was not a positive one. I believe improvements are needed to ensure that all reservations made through Hotels.com can be trusted in the future.
