Stunning vineyard cottage with pool and terrace
Slow down and unwind at this unique and tranquil getaway. Once a vineyard workers cottage, many years ago, it is now fully restored to comfortably welcome four guests. The cottage flanks the vines with an uninterrupted view over the vineyard towards the estuary on the horizon. Relax on the terrace and take in its generous views over the landscape, take a dip in your own private pool or stroll through the vines and woodlands that are both equally abundant in the area.
Beautifully decored gite from which you can explore local vineyards and Roman and prehistoric archaeological sites. The gite overlooks vineyards and is a short walk from a pharmacy, bakery and butcher shop. Fantastic place to stay.
We were honored to stay at this cottage! Our family of four (two adults, 4yo and 6yo) came in for a local wedding. We were incredibly grateful for the food since we arrived in the late afternoon after long travels with kids.
We frequently use rental homes and this is one of the most well appointed places we've stayed. It has everything you need but is not cluttered or overwhelming. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design. The rooms are generously sized and we appreciated having a separate bathroom for our kids! This would also be a great place for two couples. The highlight for our kids was the pool - they swam multiple times a day. The highlight for adults was the expansive vineyard views. Be prepared for morning, afternoon, and evening walks to check out the vines.
All the basics are within a five minute walk of the cottage. The boulangerie was great for bread and croissants. The Proxi (convenience store), pharmacy, and butcher shop are all right next to each other. There are also outdoor tennis courts, a small soccer/futbol enclosure, and a pingpong table all right behind the cottage. We stopped at the Intersport in Blaye and picked up swim goggles (pool is salt water, which the kids weren't used to), a soccer ball, and ping pong paddles so we could take advantage of everything! Finally, our kids aren't babies anymore but it hasn't been that long; this seems like a great place for families with very young kids.
It was so sad to leave Berson - we'll be back!
