Nice cabin for a family getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great cabin to stay in so my family could go skiing and snowboarding. It is a short drive of 10+ minutes to Snow Summit and much closer to Bear Mountain (we went to SS). All the bedrooms are on the first floor (and a a bathroom) and upstairs is the nice family/dining room, kitchen and a 2nd bathroom. Great spa on the redwood deck with a BBQ.Like every cabin I have been to, there are no beach towels for the spa but you can use the regular towels.

From the beginning, this property was in disrepair. When we got there the kitchen was not clean. The sink was dirty. There were minimal utensils. Old crinkle cut French fries rolled out when I first opened the oven drawer. Finally, the top portion of the built in microwave decided to come off as I was adjacent to it, almost hitting me in the head. The rooms were tiny. The room with the double beds were littered with hair against the white sheets. The curtain rods were scattered all over the floors and the shelves were incredibly dusty that people’s allergies were flaring off like the Fourth of July. The coat hangers all had dust. Other than the main bedroom, the other beds were all terrible and uncomfortable. The only thing that was truly good was the jacuzzi. It was clean and warm.

Great Spot after the Slopes

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we had a great time, enjoying the common space, comfy beds, sledding hill, and hot tub. However there are several easy fixes that would make the stay better. The window sills were pretty filthy with dust. A kitchen drawer was broken, there were no oven mitts, and no proper dish towel. Having a broom would have been great too. When we first opened the hot tub lid, the chemicals smelled like urine. Not sure if this is just the type of cleaner, but it made us apprehensive about getting in it.

Great Get Away - 100% would stay there again!

I stayed here with a few friends this past summer to celebrate my birthday and had a blast. The house was very spacious, clean and overall perfect for our needs. The balcony with the hot tub was the selling point for us! The house is a bit of a windy drive into town and back but didn't bother us too much. The only thing I would recommend is for the owner to supply a few necessities such as a wine opener and condiments that other homes have offered such as salt/pepper etc but not sure if they didn't because of covid. Would 100% stay there again!

Lovely Home

Loved staying here! The house was incredibly clean, well kept, very cozy, and functional. The beds, pillows, and bedding were awesome, and we loved the furniture in the living room upstairs. The house is extremely well- maintained with no issues whatsoever. The heat worked well and showers were hot and strong. We absolutely loved the fireplace and hot tub! The hot tub is the cleanest I have seen in a rental! All of the most important things to me were perfect. The only very minor drawbacks were that there was no sponge, dish soap, or lighter for the fireplace so we had to go out and get that (despite trying to avoid the store at all costs), and additional paper towels and toilet paper as there were not enough for our stay. Additionally it snowed and we could not find a shovel. It would have been cool to have some firewood when we arrived. Also minor issues included there was only 1 dish towel that had burn marks, as well as non-functional can opener and pretty old pots and pans. Overall very pleased but with a few very small and easy improvements would have been even more awesome.

Amazing Stay!

This place is spacious, plenty of rooms and beds for everyone, and gave us the cozy cabin feel we were looking for. The spa was perfect, the fireplace warmed up the entire top floor, and it was a great spot for a weekend getaway. We would definitely stay here again!

The cabin is in a beautiful setting among the trees and mountains. It has all you could want in a cabin in the woods. Decorated very nicely; homey and cozy. Aside from terrible pillows, it was very comfortable and we enjoyed it immensely.

Cozy, private, relaxing, getaway - Great for romantic getaway, families too!

Whether you're looking for a quite, romantic getaway, a couples trip, or a family-friendly, fun vacation, the Spa View Retreat is perfect for all. Great location! The cabin provides the secluded, peaceful mountain experience, yet only 10 min from town, stores, restaurants, etc. The cabins are just far enough apart to feel like you're the only people around. It's a quick 20 min drive to North Shore Landing, a great spot for enjoying the lake, renting boats, kayaking, jet skis, & more. The cabin is welcoming and feels like home. The driveway is narrow (good for 2 cars) and there is plenty street parking. There is one stairway to the cabin entrance (about 15 steps). The 3 bedrooms are located on the 1st floor of the house - kid-friendly room with bunkbeds, boardgames, books, & a tv (fun room for adults too!), “master” bedroom with a queen bed, and a room with a twin, full size bed, & tv - all of the rooms/beds are comfortable and all have blackout curtains. There is one bathroom downstairs w/ a bathtub and ample room to share. Washer and dryer included. The second floor is the main “hangout” area and even more cozy/welcoming in person (pictures don’t do it justice). There is a tv, a 2nd bathroom (shower only), furniture is comfy, big kitchen table, and great size kitchen. The kitchen has all of the cooking pots, pans, cups, plates, and utensils you need for meals. There is dish soap, a coffee pot, toaster, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, all you need. The fridge is bare & be sure you fill the ice cube treys or bring your own ice (no ice maker). You'll want to bring your own food, foil, coffee, paper towels, beach towels, extra trash bags, backup lighter (there is at least one grill lighter and matches), fire wood and fire starter if you want to make a fire (recommended!). Wi-Fi is also very reliable. Our favorite part about the cabin was the patio w/ grill and Jacuzzi spa located right outside the living room/kitchen area. The spa was heated when we arrived, the jets work great, highly recommend taking advantage during your stay (the view of the stars at night is amazing!). The patio has plenty room for couples and/or groups. It's peaceful and enjoy great views of Big Bear ! Management is accessible, friendly, and accommodating. The rental process was a breeze and management will inform you of everything you need to know for check-in and check-out. We had a great experience and highly recommend staying at the Spa View Retreat!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First off, if you don't like stairs, look elsewhere. This place is high up on Moonridge, a warren of houses perched on hillsides, so most houses are on slopes. This one is no exception. We didn't care, though there was huffing and puffing bringing our stuff in. Other than that, the place was good for 3 kids under 8 with those stairs to go up and down, new books to read, and some board games to play. No outside area to play in, but it was cold so we mainly stayed inside when we were at the cabin. Place was stocked with basics for cooking/cleaning etc. though I would recommend a lighter. Two bathrooms with showers is a plus. The management was responsive to our needs which were very few. It's pretty close to town, but feels further away. Fireplace was awesome. No issues with heat. In general it was clean and welcoming.
