Welcome to Lakefront Lodge, an AvantStay home!

This home located on Metcalf Bay is a sensational Big Bear estate that offers spacious, highly upgraded accommodations that will help create a memorable lakefront experience. A luxury custom cabin with direct access to Big Bear Lake and views that fuel relaxation and catalyze the creation of memories. A quick walk to Holloway's Marina and a few minutes drive to the ski slopes, shopping, or entertainment. A fabulously furnished estate, with an open floor plan, the upper entry-level offers a dining area, cozy living room, and a pool table with incredible lake and mountain views. Out the sliding glass doors is a large deck with spectacular views of the lake and a brand new Hot Tub! The spacious gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with all of the essentials for cooking including cookware, high-end appliances, and breakfast bar seating.

The outside deck on the first floor provides a 180-degree view of the lake with a dining table, BBQ, and a new hot tub to relax and take in the views. Out the backdoor, you will find 100 feet of shoreline on the lake.

Only about 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles, Big Bear Lake is a beautiful and convenient break from the hustle and bustle of the city. This nature lover’s paradise provides endless year-round activities. In the winter, Big Bear Lake offers skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and tubing. In the summer, visitors love to play water sports, horseback rides, golf, hike, and mountain bike. Head to Big Bear when you need a healthy dose of fresh air, exercise, and rejuvenation.

Home Truths:
- This home allows pets for a fee. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- Use of outdoor spas and other outdoor activities are prohibited from 10 pm - 7 am.
​​​​​​​- No amplified sound is permitted outside at any time. Indoor sound cannot be loud enough to be audible at the property line.
- Winter weather warning- From November through March, all vehicles are required to carry chains in their vehicle.
- Lake levels may vary. This dock is beached.
- This home can accommodate a maximum of 10 adults.
- Please note, all persons (including infants, children and visitors) at the home are counted towards the total occupancy of the home. Guests cannot exceed the permitted occupancy at any time.
- AvantStay plows and clears the driveway and one pathway to the front door. We provide shovels for guests to use should they wish to clear paths on any other part of the property.
- Guests are responsible for disposing of trash at the local dumpsite in accordance with the City of Big Bear policy. Charges may apply if left on the property.
- The kayaks onsite are not available for guest use.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

Comfortable beds

Overall it was fine. The property mgr was so kind and easy to work with. The beds were very comfortable and there is lots of space so it worked for our needs. We paid a lot of money for a view and there are 12 big windows for just that, however 8 of them (the biggest ones) were completely fogged and clearly have been for a long time, so you could not see through them and add to it , every window sill, the balcony and the front entrance /light were covered in cobwebs(including the dining room chandelier and kitchen sink ) This home must have its windows replaced as it takes away from the high costs of a view of the marina . The pots and pans are so old, dented and scratched up that it was hard to cook. I am usually generous with 5 stars but the poor condition of the windows, cooking pans and cobwebs really disappointed myself and my guests and completely took away the good feeling of the beds and large space . Owner has some work ahead of them before this should be rented out again in my opinion

Enchanting

This was the most beautiful place we have stayed in and we travel a great deal. Perfect for a family relaxing stay. The access to games, water, jacuzzi, porch seating, and so much more. Cannot wait to stay at this property in the near future!

Great potential, but disappointed

When we arrived, the person cleaning was just finishing (1 person for this very large property). I asked her to stay while I did a really quick run through, which she kindly obliged. It looked ok so we unloaded and started to get settled. Unfortunately, as we began to settle in and use the property, we found several things that caused this property to be less than great. 1) Not enough towels per bathroom (1 hand towel/2 people??) nor towel racks to hang towels on. 2) The towel rack in the queen bedroom, bath upstairs is bent as someone must have used it as a handle. 3) A screen door (one on the left when facing the deck from the living room) was ripped out at the bottom. 4) The carpet, in a word, is horrible. After we opened the curtains and blinds and let light in, it was readily apparent that this carpet was well used. It is pretty disgusting to be frank and we spent more than an hour or so spot cleaning it ourselves just so it was more pleasant. 5) The mattresses were so used that they dipped in the middle and were incredibly uncomfortable, in the queen room upstairs and the master down stairs. I ended up sleeping on the couch one night and eventually moved to the other queen downstairs and my husband stayed alone in the queen upstairs and slept diagonally so he didn't roll into the middle. 6) When starting to cook breakfast on the first morning, I pulled out 3 pans that had severely caked on egg and one pan that was dirty with heavy grease. Disgusting. I assume what happened is some prior guests put unrinsed pans in the DW, ran it and left and housekeeping simply unloaded without paying any attention as to whether the pans were actually cleaned. It was pretty bad. I scrubbed them all clean, so we wouldn't get charged for leaving unclean dishes. 7) Light bulb above stove top, under microwave, not working. Not a huge thing, but just one more thing that could be easily corrected. 8) The house got SUPER HOT during the day, with the south facing windows. Not something that can be easily corrected I understand, but it was pretty uncomfortable on the main level during the day. 9) The shower and sink drains in the upstairs queen BR-bath, did not drain well and would fill during shower and/or washing at sink. 10) No A/C. The kitchen very well appointed. The pool table was great. Location was nice and the downstairs deck was nice since it was covered so much cooler.

Overall, we had a blast!

We had a few snags communicating with the property management team, (they told me incorrect info for check in, they also said that bikes were available at the property when there are no bikes there and initially they wouldn't give us additional towels when we requested some... there was only one kitchen towel for our week stay), but once all of that was resolved, we had a blast. The property and location are beautiful. It accommodated the 8 of us perfectly.. the teens, parents and grandparents all loved the rental. The only other thing that's weird about the rental is they only provided 4 coffee mugs... we had 6 adults who all wanted coffee in the morning... so we ended up buying Big Bear mugs in town.. but honestly the management team should have provided them (but after the rocky start, I didn't want to bother them). Anyway, despite the few snags and lack of mugs, we were all very happy with the rental and would stay there again!

Roomy, great location/balconies. Property manager stepped up.

We had an awesome time at this property just because of its great location and nice views of the lake and marina from the 2 balconies. Plus it was very roomy and very livable for 11 people, which included 5 kids. Having said that, we did notice many items needing repair when we got there. This ended up upsetting us a bit, especially considering we spent a premium price to rent this luxury rental on a holiday weekend. However, WowRentals really stepped up and showed us they were accountable and wanted to do the right thing. They assured us that all repairs we listed would be addressed by maintenance. In addition, they gave us some monetary compensation due to the fact that some items advertised as available at the property were not in full working condition when we stayed there. I’m very impressed with their quick response and true desire to make the property as good as it should be (and as advertised). I always want to applaud anyone who will stand behind their product and correct anything not right. WowRentals did just that. Because they stepped up and wanted to do the right thing, I give them high kudos and will definitely consider them for rentals in the future.

Great location

Overall we had a great time at his property and loved the location. The pictures show a fenced in yard, but that is actually the property next door. We had to leave our dogs on the porch when we were out. Also make sure you bring/purchase coffee mugs because there are only 4! But overall everything was really nice and we would return again.

We were celebrating a birthday for five days. The house has that wow factor. Great house for a getaway. It was nice that the dogs could be with us and the two back decks perfect for them and us to sit out and enjoy the marina and sunshine. Great time had by all! Thank you.

Had a great trip to Big Bear! The house was a perfect with spectacular views of the lake. The slope in the back was perfect for sledding and the street was quiet with little traffic so perfect for long walks. Would definitely recommend this property!
