Rustic Cabin/Quiet Area/Next to Forest/Feet From Hiking Trails/Hot Tub/Garage
Big Bears Best Hiking Trails are just 2 doors away from your front door as pictured above!
Need a get away? Welcome to our second home we call "The Georgia Peach." Whether you are looking for a quiet relaxing family getaway or an adventurous ski, lake or hiking vacation, the Georgia Peach is close to it all and can not be beat.
The Georgia Peach was built in the 1920's when Big Bear Lake was a roaring gold mining boom town. In the 80's the Peach had some major additions added including a master bedroom with bath and a garage which doubled it's size. The Peach is located on Georgia Street and is one of the most beautiful streets in Big Bear Lake.
At the turn of the last century when Big Bear was a gold boom town, Georgia Street was close enough to the town (now called the Village) for the miners to walk to and from, but far enough away, that the law didn't care what went on. It is said that back in the 1920's and 1930's that Georgia street was considered the wild west of big bear.
Now this quiet historic street where the Georgia Peach sits, boasts peace and serenity. The perfect place to get away from the traffic and noise of the city. You will first notice the beauty of Georgia street when you enter it. The tall trees that flank it on both sides block the sun and give it a storybook feel. When the winds blow, the trees sway and it sounds like the forest itself is speaking to you.
When you first arrive at the Peach you will notice how quiet it is except for the birds. The sweet smell of the mountain air will let you know you are truly in the national forest.

We have free Sledding just two doors up , a few steps from our front door at the top of the street. Save your money and sled the day away with the whole family. You can see pictures of this area in our gallery.
The "Town Trail" is a hiking trail just above the Peach that can take you anywhere you want to hike on the mountain. With great views and trails that go everywhere, bring you camera because you are about to be WOWed! You could also explore the world of geocaching or just take a leisurely walk with your kids or dogs. The tail is for all types of hikers.
We are dog friendly. We have water and pet food bowls so you have one less thing to bring for your pet. Donât forget the leash, but if you do, we have you covered.
The Peach is within walking distance to many of the fun spots in Big Bear. You can walk to the ski slopes or even mountain bike there to enjoy the trails. The lake is at the bottom end of the street, and you could walk to the village where you can eat and shop. Hours of great family fun await you at the Georgia Peach.
The Peach is a 2 story rustic cabin approximately 1300 square feet with 2 bedrooms, 3 beds that can sleep 6 people comfortably. We not only wash all the linens and bedding but sanitize before the guests arrive.
The downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser, closet and wall mounted TV. There is also a bathroom with shower located downstairs.
The huge upstairs bedroom has a king size bed, as well as full size bed with dressers and closet. There is also a full bathroom with bathtub shower combo upstairs. The huge room upstairs is perfect for the kids to share and have access to a bathroom. With a tank-less water heater no one has to worry about getting a cold shower or bath.
The living room and both bedrooms have flat screen high definition televisions with free local TV, and streaming services.
There is a full kitchen with a dishwasher and the basic essentials. We provide a coffee pot as well as a coffee bar, which includes teas and fun stuff for the kids. The kitchen table can expand to accommodate 6 guests.
We have included a professional Poker top to fit over the kitchen table for the poker players out there. This can be found under the downstairs bed. Nothing beats a great Poker Party in the woods.
There is also a washer and dryer for your convenience.
There are lots of great activities to enjoy inside the Peach, including a Foosball table, watch TV or a movie. We also include an Ethernet cable and an HDMI cable to (Bring Your own Gaming System) plug your favorite gaming console in for hours of gaming on the Den TV.
Outside the peach there is a long driveway. This driveway can accommodate trailers. The Peach also has a garage and a carport to keep your cars out of the snow and the rain. The garage is a great place to store your bikes and kayaks between rides.
Imagine sitting under the stars in your very own hot tub after a long day of skiing or biking or just hanging out. There is nothing better than enjoying the quiet grandness of the forest while relaxing in a bubbling hot tub.
In the summer you can walk to the lake and enjoy a nice sunny day on the sandy beach and if you get too hot jump right in. In the winter you can enjoy the slopes near by. Snow Summit also has a free shuttle to Bear Mountain.
To make sure you and your family and friends have a safe vacation, the Peach is has smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors throughout the house.
Rest assured as we do have security cameras that cover the outside of the home for your safety. For security purposes, we have 3 cameras outside of the home. One is facing the front entry of the home including the upper driveway and the other two look up and down the driveway capturing the side door, garage door, Driveway East, Driveway West and carport. 1. Outdoor camera front (covering entry area) 2. Outdoor camera driveway (covering driveway entry East) 3. Outdoor camera driveway (covering driveway West and carport)
We also take care of your household trash. Not many other rentals do, so you might want to ask. Nothing better than leaving the mountain and not having to wait in a trash line or worry about where you are going to dispose of your weekends trash stinking up your car.
Host was terrible, continued to argue with me about service dog logistics and asked what my disability was. Then charged me a cleaning fee for dishes in the dishwasher that were hand washed and dog hair from my service dog, which is against the ADA. Host is very unreasonable and while the place was decently nice, the host was so nasty and unpleasant to work with it left a bitter taste in our mouths and our stay unpleasant. Wouldnât recommend.
Everything was great and as advertised. The location was very convenient for hikes and walking to local food and drink establishments without worrying about having to drive. We would love to stay here again.
Overall we had a good stay at this location. It was easy to find and came as described. The house was very clean. No complaints as to that aspect. There are a few things to note with this property. The steps to the hot tub only go up about 1/4 of the way of the side of the unit. Most will find this to be accomodating, but unfortunately, for me it wasn't. If you have short legs, or more limited mobility you may want to keep this in mind. We were fine not using it and I fully understand that is a me problem, not a them problem.Just good for renters to keep in mind. The downstairs bed was good and comfortable. Though the upstairs beds could use an updated matress. As well as the recliners and couches could use a restuffing. Overall for the price and accomadations from the host for our puppy, it was a good choice. We appreciated the ease of check in and out. It was a very quite street and made for an enjoyable time. Would recommend overall. Oh, and there was even a few snacks and ice trays ready with ice upon arrival. I appreciated that small gesture.
The cabin was lovely and clean when we arrived. There was one really uncomfy bed upstairs, but we switched to the downstairs one and it was great. Itâs your classic wood cabin with paneling inside and cute decor. The views are of trees and surrounding cabins, lots of wildlife. The only thing that would make this place better is if it were a little more private or secluded. You can see the other houses and windows very close to it and the outdoor area in the back is in the wide open so everyone can see. I would have preferred a view without other people in it, but thatâs just nit picking. We had a wonderful weekend and I would say this place is one of the nicest rentals by owner that Iâve ever stayed. Fully stocked kitchen, lovely area, conveniently located near everything. Quiet neighborhood, close to hiking. Just perfect.
Absolutely 5-star experience! Jerry was incredibly helpful, sending clear check-in instructions ahead of time and answering our questions immediately. The house was spotless, and they even left a welcome basket which was a lovely touch.Highly recommend for a stress-free getaway with our dog!
My wife and three kids spent last weekend at the Georgia Peach. We had a great experience and loved the stay! Was a great rustic home with all accommodations and great location. We enjoyed a couple quiet walks at night through the neighborhood and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The kids loved the fusbol table and we loved the little coffee bar. Plenty of linens, bedding, and all the comforts of home! We are ready to book again next year!
The host 100 percent was controlling the thermostat and keeping it at 68 degrees the first night we stayed there. We had our 18 month old with us. Had to wake up every hour to turn the heat back on only to see it get back to 68. Keep in mind it was the same weekend the winter snow storm was supposed to happen- temp was around 25-30 at night. When I reached out to Jerry the next day to tell him it keeps blowing cold air and going to 68. His response was âi see you have it set to 72â and to basically keep it at 70. I told him you have to disclose if the thermostat only goes to 70. It wasnât until I threatened to contract VRBO that his heater MIRACULOUSLY was no longer set to 68 and didnât start blowing cold. Air. It was an absolutely embarrassing excuse they had. After that we knew this host has slapped lipstick on a pig and itâs not worth the cost. Additionally both keypad locks went down. Luckily the host had the spare keys in a lock box but we wouldnât be surprised if we got locked out. Thankfully our convo is all on messages and you can see his awful excuse as to why it was blowing cold air.
My family and I come up to Big Bear every MLK weekend, and the Georgia Peach did not disappoint. This cabin has everything a family needs while up in the mountains. If you bring bikes, like we did, you can literally bike wherever you want to go because this cabin is so close to everything. The town trail is about 50 yards from the cabin, and that is a nice hike through the forest just steps from the front door. Big Bear village is only about 1.5 miles from the cabin. If you are looking for a home away from home in Big Bear, then this is your place.
