This is the first time we have ever given a negative review on VRBO, and we have stayed at many properties. This home was very disappointing compared to other Blue Ridge homes at comparable prices. This is an older home and everything is worn and dated. The home is very dark with very small windows that look out at the lake. The back deck had one old lounge chair and the grounds were very dirty. The wood decks were dirty and splintered. There were no lounge chairs on the lower boat dock at all. The mattresses were old and thin and the solution was to put a thin pad over them which didn't really work. The upstairs bedrooms had window AC units if you're staying in the summer. The home was not stocked like a typical higher end rental. Plan on going to the store immediately and stocking up on EVERYTHING. It was unseasonably chilly the week we were there and asked to turn on the fireplace. We were told no, and that they turned the gas off in the summers. Overall, this home was probably very nice 20 years ago, but is in desperate need of maintenance and updating. The good news is that this house is big and will sleep many people and the rental company answers quickly when you have questions, however, just beware that the pictures of the property are not accurate.
