Relax or entertain in the two fully contained levels - sleeps 10-12 comfortably - perfect for two families or a corporate retreat. Enjoy tranquil mornings, peace, quiet and the natural surroundings or an open private space to gather with family and friends. Awake to the warm sunrise while you relax with your morning coffee on the front covered tropical patio. Indulge with an afternoon cocktail on the sunny back deck or BBQ in the cozy picnic area nestled in the trees. In the evenings, catch the beautiful orange and red sunsets during a walk along the private beaches, just a few minutes drive from the cottage. At night, gather to roast marshmallows on the backyard fire pit while you watch the fireflies light up the grounds. Just minutes from scenic hiking trails, fishing, golf courses, charming restaurants and picturesque shops in Bayfield or the night life in Grand Bend.

The price for weekly rental is $ during peak season June - August, $ from September - May. The rental period is from Friday 5 PM to Friday 12:00 Noon. Victoria and Labour Day weekend $.

Bed Sizes - 1 Queen Bed, 2 Double Beds, 1 Double Sofabed, 1 Double Futon, 1 Twin Bed, 1 Set Twin Bunk Beds.

Beautiful home

Another great stay at Birdsong!

We just stayed for the second year at Birdsong Cottage in Grand Bend. Had a great time, cottage is beautiful. Lots of space for the 8 of us to relax. Very quiet and just far enough away from the partying downtown. Everything was great and we enjoyed our week. Look forward to staying there again.

Great Stay at Birdsong

This is a very beautiful well maintained cottage inside and out. Lots of room for the 9 of us to either spend time together or find a quiet spot on your own. Huge, very private, property allows many options to spend time outdoors and enjoy the nature on the property. This cottage is a short drive from the much louder downtown area of Grand Bend to allow trips to the action but be far enough away to enjoy the quiet otherwise. Would absolutely return to this cottage next year.

Family Time

The Atkins cottage was everything we hoped for. The property and cottage were clean and well stocked with items that we needed daily. We came with a group of 11 and had lots of room. The large outdoor table and chairs served us well at meal time. The volley ball net and firepit were well used by us. The beach was a short 5 minute walk and the 75 steps leading to the beach kept us all in good shape :) We were 10 minutes from Grand Bend and 25 minutes from Goderich...both great places to visit. We would highly recommend this cottage!

Chilling at Birdsong

What a lovely property! So tastefully decorated and very spacious, more than enough for 2 families to enjoy. Located in a great little neighbourhood ~ although no direct access to the beach, this cottage is close to Grand Bend and a short drive to Ipperwash Beach too. Joanne & Paul were very responsive and wonderful to deal with. The Birdsong is relaxing and has all the comforts of home plus! Had a truly great time and would definitely recommend.

Great family get away

The house was very clean, spacious and a good fit for our group of 12. The hosts were quick to respond to questions and the house was well equipped for everything we needed (kitchen was well equipped for cooking, BBQ-ing, board games, extra blankets, etc). There was lots of seating for everyone, indoors and outdoors and the fire pit, volleyball/badminton net was fun too! We would highly recommend this property for any group looking to relax and get away!

Beautiful and Relaxing

This is a top notch cottage/home with everything you need to enjoy your vacation. The home and property have been beautifully maintained. We enjoyed dining al fresco, watercolour painting and listening to the birds over by the large wooden table in the shade. The kids enjoyed playing badminton and roasting marshmallows around the fire.

Beautiful Property

A spacious, well equipped and well organized cottage. We were very pleased with the cleanliness inside. The backyard was beautiful and thoroughly enjoyed by our family. Catching fire flies at night and making s’mores by the fire was a memorable experience. Property owners left us a beautiful care package and farm fresh eggs in the fridge! Thank you so very much!

Spacious, clean, comfortable cottage in a great location.

Really enjoyed our stay at Joanne & Paul’s cottage. Cottage is really nice and spacious and located in a private area. Very quiet and peaceful area. Lot’s of space inside and outside. Clean and well kept interior, much nicer than pictures, pictures does not justify the spaciousness and well stocked it is. Had all the essential of home and more. Great location to beach, parks and great places to eat. Joanne & Paul were wonderful host who provided great information and advise around the area. Looking forward to going back.

Amazing cottage that had everything we needed. Lots of space for two families.

We loved this cottage. It not only had two distinct living areas, which was great for a vacation with another family, but it also had everything that you could need for kitchen amenities and an awesome yard. The house was spotless and everything was well cared for. We mostly went to Ipperwash beach, which was about 25 mins away, during our stay because it was very large, had pristine soft sand and the water stayed shallow for a very young time. We went to 2 other beaches during our stay which were just up the road but the one was harder to get to, down a very steep hill/stairs, and the other one in St. Joseph had large rocks across the whole bottom and got deeper quicker, these two things made it not an ideal location to swim with young children. The beaches at these two locations were a lot of fun for exploring though. We spent most of our time outside in the very large yard and ate most of our meals, except when it was raining, outside on the deck. The neighbourhood was also a great location for bike riding with the kids and the first two days we must have gone around the block around 40 times because our kids had so much fun. Every time we passed neighbours everyone waved. We are hoping beach access will be available next year to make it easier to take a quick dip in the water. Definitely a 5+ location.

Wonderful Cottage

My extended family and I enjoyed our stay at this cottage. We loved the playing volleyball in the backyard and spent nights around the bonfire. Both kitchens were fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals for our group. A great experience.

Beautiful home and close to Grand Bend area

Joanne and Paul were very pleasant and always easy to communicate with. My group and I loved our time in their beautiful home. It was very clean and they provided all the amenities that made the stay so comfortable and convenient, from sporting equip/games, outdoor furniture, cleaning products and all the necessities for cookware. Whatever we needed it seemed like they thought it all through and had it readily available for their guests. All the rooms and beds were comfortable and tidy. The outdoor area was where we loved hanging out when the weather was good. Tons of seating and table area were we could BBQ and dine outside. The volleyball net added a lot of entertainment for us as well. The best part of the back yard was the fire pit, spacious opening in the yard where we could sit on comfortable chairs and enjoy the quite environment. The home is very close driving distance to the grocery stores and Grand Bend Beach. We went just when the fall season started so hanging out by the fire pit during the chilly nights were perfect. My friends and I would definitely go back in the summer time because we love the clear waters in Lake Huron and had an amazing experience at the Atkins Beach home.

Loved all of it.

We loved the space to play family games and enjoyed the space to eat as a group. We had 8 adults and two babies with us. This was the most enjoyable family week so far. The owners were very accommodating. Short drive to downtown Grand Bend. Even the short walk to the water was fine. Beach area was rocky and very hard on the feet. Wearing water shoes would improve the beach adventure. Would recommend this cottage to anyone. Our family just grew some more, so not big enough for us now. Really loved it.
