Mandolin Wind - Private retreat with filtered ocean view and hot tub

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are taking extra precautions for each rental. We no longer allow quick turns (guests arrive on the same day as last guest depart) between rentals. Our minimum is 28 hours between rentals to allow extra time for cleaning/sanitation. We follow CDC guidelines which includes wiping down all commonly touched surfaces including lockbox, door knobs, light switches, TV controls, bath and kitchen fixtures, etc. Every countertop is disinfected with a spray sanitizer and allowed to air dry. We, of course, leave it up to the guests to follow their own guidelines as far as masks, social distancing, etc.

About a 10 minute walk to the beach! A single level house situated on a quarter acre lot with great privacy. The kitchen has been recently remodeled and is equipped for serious cooking. Comfortably furnished home with new Hot Springs hot tub and loungers on the large deck offering views of the ocean and Bodega Head.

Mandolin Wind is ideally laid out for two couples or a small family. Generous master suite has a king-sized bed, private bath and 36" TV. The guest bedroom has queen-sized bed, 36" TV and adjacent bath. Top quality linens, hair dryers, washer/dryer, ironing board/iron are all provided.

The kitchen includes a great gas stove for the cook, slab granite counter tops and new stainless steel appliances, including a wine refrigerator. Next to the well-equipped kitchen is the dining area, which comfortably seats six. You will also find a wonderful selection of cook books and elegant artwork throughout the house.

The large living room features a gas fireplace, high ceilings, 50" HD TV and DVD player with internet connection. There are many windows and sliding door leading to the deck with hot tub and lots of space for relaxing. There is a Weber gas BBQ and table for outdoor dining.

Mandolin Wind has a high speed internet connection via Comcast cable to accommodate people who want to get away but have to stay connected. There is a wireless router to allow use of all your internet devices.

You can enjoy a round of world-class golf, then have dinner in the Club House overlooking the ocean. There are sliding glass doors out to the spa from the master bedroom and also the living area. Later on, watch the sunset from the private hot tub, while enjoying a glass of local Sonoma County wine; you will live out on the deck!

Bodega Bay is a quiet, secluded, peaceful sanctuary, yet only 55 miles from the sophisticated City of San Francisco. Hiking and bike trails abound to explore the rugged coastline. Enjoy a walk around Bodega Head or take the Pinnacle Gulch trail, which leads directly down to the beach. There are many local activities in Bodega Bay, Bodega, Sonoma, Petaluma and Sebastopol, such as the Fisherman's Festival and wineries in all directions.

We are so fortunate to have many excellent restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive, including Blue Water Bistro, our own clubhouse restaurant, Lucas Wharf and The Tides, and we can now boast of a Michelin one-star restaurant, Terrapin Creek. We are happy to share all of these wonderful local features with our guests

Loved the private location and well stocked kitchen. Tea pot and electric tea kettle were a bonus as a tea drinker. Found broken glass by hot tub I cleaned up and I did increase the temperature. The tub cover needs replacing as it is getting water logged. The patio was dog safe and we enjoyed our daily walk to the beach. Appreciated having the garage to park in. Would return in the future!

This is a beautiful home, well cared for and more amenities than expected. Clean, well arranged, pantry with some basics (salt, pepper, oil, etc.), a "lending wine fridge" - drink one / replace one. In memory and honor

My kids and I decided to visit their father's favorite places in Bodega Bay. The house was everything we needed. We spent the weekend looking at the stars from the patio, putting together a puzzle we found in the house, watching movies, and visiting local beaches and restaurants. We were able to relax and enjoy our time together. My kids were impressed with the amount of books they found around the house. The only issues we had were there were quite a few spiders and all 3 of my daughter screamed at least twice, and we did a load of laundry after a beach trip but the dryer needs to be serviced. I gave 5 *s because if those were only 2 concerns I have after a three night stay, I can not complain.

We had a wonderful time golfing and enjoying our vacation. The property is dated and could use more than an freshen up. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Small bottles from past hotel stays and half used were available, but definitely old. More than enough conditioner. Hall shower is small. The kitchen is ample for any kind of cooking. Nice Weber grill. The spa was perfect for afternoon / evening soaks. We could definitely smell a dog in the second bedroom.

Great location,views, and neighborhood. Very much enjoyed our peaceful 2 night getaway at this VRBO- very clean upon arrival and hot tub was a bonus on the deck. Walked our dog to the beach from house and neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe. Only con - home needs an update. Other than that, it is well equipped and you really don’t need to bring anything but food and your suitcase. Enjoyed our stay 100%!

Beautiful Property! Perfect Romantic Getaway!

We stayed at this home for 5 days and enjoyed every moment! The home is clean and well appointed. The outdoor deck has a great view and deer are seen daily in the back. The hot tub is clean and ready for a great place to have good conversation. The hosts are very communicative and pleasant. Any couple wanting a quiet, private, peaceful place to stay should seriously consider renting this home!
