1Eight3 Retreat is an immaculately maintained, elegantly furnished and decorated, modern mountain cottage on Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock, less than 2 miles from downtown. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only a mile away, and Tweetsie Railroad is only about 3.5 miles away. The Town of Boone and Appalachian State University are both about 5 miles away. Valle Crucis is approximately 12 miles away and the Town of Seven Devils and Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zip Lines are about 15 miles away. Grandfather Mountain is less than 14 miles away. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Beech Mountain Ski Resort are 18 and 27 miles away, respectively. Watauga Lake and the Tennesee line are less than 30 miles away. All there is to do in the High Country is conveniently nearby.

The cottage itself is a two-story, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home ideal for a romantic weekend getaway, or a small family High Country vacation to enjoy any of the four seasons. The owners have lovingly and thoughtfully outfitted this home with a comfortable yet elegant consistent mountain modern theme throughout, which should be desirable to the most discerning guests.

Enter through the front door into the main level foyer and you will find the kitchen and dining area immediately on your left. Dine six guests comfortably after preparing meals in a kitchen equipped with butcher block counters, custom Shaker-style cabinets, stainless appliances, and a gas cooktop. Down the main hall is the living room looking out at the rear covered porch and onto the private back yard surrounded by woods. The living room has a large wall-mounted HD Smart TV, comfortable upholstered and leather furniture, with a good mix of rustic and modern touches. Glass doors lead out from both the kitchen and living room onto the covered porch and deck, which wraps around from the front, side, and rear, and offers comfortable outdoor seating with heat for chilly days and nights, an outdoor dining table, and a stainless gas grill. Also on the main level is a half-bathroom/powder room which also serves as a laundry room.

Upstairs you will find all three bedrooms and both full bathrooms. The master suite features a king bed, HD Smart TV, and a private bathroom with a shower/bathtub combo. There is a queen bedroom which also has an HDTV, and a bunk bedroom with a twin top bunk, and a full-size sleeper sofa underneath. The bunk bedroom also has an HDTV. Central in the hallway is another full bathroom with a tub and shower combo.

Downstairs you will find a game room with HDTV and foosball table for casual family fun. Ample parking and a large landscaped yard with a gazebo swing make this a wonderful place for groups of up to 6. Dogs are allowed (no cats!) but only 1 per reservation, with a 50-pound weight limit.

We had a wonderful at this cabin. It was clean and tidy. The cabin smelled clean and had everything we needed to make our Thanksgiving dinner. We’d love to stay here again.

Lovely house

The home was perfect in every way. We stayed for two weeks as we had our boutique at the horse show. Great place to return to after a long day. Loved staying here. Very well stocked except there were no coat hangers! Would rent again!

Great location near Blowing Rock.

My wife, our adult son, and our cocker spaniel stayed here over a weekend. We had an event in Blowing Rock on Saturday and it was super convenient to get in town or to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. The Food Lion was minutes away, but we felt like we were in the mountains. It was a bit cold, but we used the outdoor grill and would have enjoyed sitting on the porch during warmer weather. Plenty of seating, a great kitchen table for board games and gathering.

Updated Cozy House

We had a great stay at this modern mountain cottage. A small house up on the mountain, just 5 minutes drive to Appalachian Ski Mountain where we were spending most of our time. The home was clean and well appointed. Interiors were updated and had everything we needed. We loved the layout of the home - private living room for a cozy movie night, three bedrooms upstairs were good sizes. We had a few issues that were minor, not worth contacting management. The pocket door between the master bedroom and bathroom would not stay closed and there was no latch. We were not able to find sheets for the pullout couch. And one time we dropped something that rolled beneath the master bed and discovered it was filthy underneath. But again, all minor and overall highly recommend and would stay again.

Cozy Little Cabin

This was our first trip to Blowing Rock a f we really enjoyed ourselves. The house itself is very well decorated, beds are very comfortable, and they give you starter paper towels, TP, and provide all of the kitchen items you would need for cooking. We loved driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, and hanging out in Blowing Rock and Boone. We were also able to get DoorDash delivery from Boone, so lots of choices for takeout if you just want to stay in and watch a movie or have a Foosball tournament. We also took the kids to Tweetsie Railroad, which they had an unexpectedly fun time for almost teenagers. Loved this house and the location.

Very close to Appalachian ski mountain (5mins). Awesome home and well stocked with kitchen items. Recommend you definitely have 4 wheel drive to get up to house during winter months.

Beautiful cabin in the woods

This tiny house is absolutely beautiful. The decor is lovely and luxurious and feels like home. The fully stocked kitchen is not lacking anything. The beautiful appliances, k-cup coffee maker and butcher block countertops (just to make a few) make you feel like you’re in a special bed and breakfast inn! The comfortable bedding, bathrooms and laundry room made us feel like we could love here forever. We traveled with a furry companion and the doggie bowls that were provided and special doggie eating area was a nice touch. We will definitely be back to this special house in the woods!

We had a wonderful stay at this home. Everything was very new and clean, we loved the luxury furnishings and extras. The location can not be beat, very close both Boone & Blowing Rock. The house was the perfect size for our family of 4, but may feel a little small for a group of 6. The kitchen is well stocked with very nice dishes and everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. The kids enjoyed playing in the snow in the yard. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We have rented several homes in the area and by far this property was the best. From the furnishings to the little things like Williams-Sonoma soap and lotion. The dishes/pot & pans made me feel like I was in my own home. Very clean and with COVID-19, I didn't feel like I needed to clean again. So impressed. We will rent this home again. One small suggestion would be to update the pillows in the master; they were a little flat but no big deal.

Beautiful cabin stocked with anything and everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The location is perfect! Nestled between blowing rock and Boone we were able to explore both areas. Gorgeous House

Awesome and immaculate! Beautifully furnished and decorated. Stairs leading to bedrooms are steep if you are elderly. Only gripe is there were no screens- so opening for fresh air at night not so good due to moths. Otherwise a great rental. Tiny basement with foosball a plus!
