The property is under construction, and we were given no notice before we checked in. Our room was not available and they downgraded us to a different room, but I have not received any compensation. Here is an email I sent to the staff and I am still waiting for a reply. They respond with a manager will get back to you shortly and then nobody ever does.
Dear The Cove Front Desk,
First, I want to acknowledge that our room itself is lovely and very comfortable, and we have found your staff to be consistently friendly and welcoming during our stay.
That being said, there have been several issues that have left us feeling disappointed with our overall experience:
Room change without prior notice: We specifically booked a suite with a kitchen, but upon arrival were told our room was unavailable due to construction. We received no prior notice of this change before our arrival. The offered solutionâa pirate-themed room with bunk bedsâwas not an appropriate alternative for two adults. Ultimately, we were placed in a different suite without a kitchen, which was ready after 5:00 PM, over an hour past the standard check-in time. After a long day of travel, this delay was exhausting. While the staff were able to problem solve we waited very patiently.Â
Lack of communication about construction: While we did receive an email two days prior noting the main entrance would be closed, there was no mention on Expedia or your website about room changes or early-morning construction noise.
