The village is surrounded by rolling countryside, the beauty spots of Talkin Tarn and Castle Carrock reservoir are both close by. The market town of Brampton is a 10 minute drive with shops, bars and restaurants, or head to the County capital Carlisle for a night at the cinema, shopping at the Lanes or explore the historical Castle and Cathedral. If historical sites are of interest Hadrian's Wall and Lanercost Priory are both within a short drive. The Lake District is just over an hours drive away as is Newcastle with its cosmopolitan night life and the Metro Centre at Gateshead for all your designer brand shops.
