Our hosts were extremely helpful and responsive. Our travel coincided with a snow storm and very cold weather. Before our arrival, our hosts kept us informed about local weather and road conditions, so we could time a safe arrival. During our stay, they continued to ensure that all of our needs were met. The Peak-A-View Mountain Retreat was the perfect place to stay during our time at the John C. Campbell Folk School. The cabin is clean and cozy and our dog enjoyed the fenced back yard.

The hosts were extremely welcoming. Very on top of things with communications - especially in light of inclement weather conditions at the beginning and the end of my stay! The property was in great shape and everything was in order. The kitchen is nicely appointed, the bed was good, the heat worked great, the water pressure was great, and it was easy check in and out. It is an excellent location when taking a class at John C Campbell Folk School! Less than a 10 minute (really more like 5 minutes) drive away and super easy to get back and forth - just have to be aware that there is a lovely herd of deer that were always out and about when I went back and forth :) The view was lovely from the house and while it was much too cold for me to sit outside - there are great places to sit and enjoy nature when the weather allows. Thanks to Apryl and Daniel for the hospitality and the care they give their property - Peak-A-View is on my list for the next time I'm in class at the Folk School!

The setting of the property was lovely. Nestled in the mountains, yet an easy drive to the neighboring city of Murphy. Everything we needed could be found there. The home was very nice and equipped with anything we might need. Spent evenings enjoying the sunset from the deck. they were spectacular. We took several day trips never more than an hour away. Most were closer.

Quiet Retreat

The cabin was adorable and very well updated. It was a vacation with me, my husband and 6 yr old daughter and we had plenty of space. Check in process was easy and Apryl was very accommodating and easy to communicate with throughout the stay. Cabin was easy to get to, as we have stayed in some with questionable access. Very quiet location and there was deer everywhere!! We even had one right outside the window one morning. There is a slight Mountain View from the back deck which was nice in the evening. Wi-fi access was good but did get spotty which is not uncommon for any mountain retreat. The owners do live right next door but gave us plenty of privacy and was no issue at all. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend if looking for a quiet place to stay close to nature.

We had a fabulous stay at this mountain retreat! The house has a fun "contemporary woodsy" vibe. Bright, spotless, and fun! As Dr. Who would say, "It's bigger on the inside!"

Peace and Tranquility

Perfect setting to sit and watch the sunrise and sunset. Enjoyed watching the deer play in the yard. House had everything you need. Very well stocked with all goodies and surprises. All you need is your clothes! Great way to end the day with soaking in the bathtub by candlelight. Truly enjoyed our stay.

Good weekend stay

The location was great and the house is very cute. The owner was great at making the place feel welcoming and provided us with everything we needed. It’s a great place if no more than 2 people, due to it being a smaller place. The furniture isn’t super comfortable, but we were gone most of the day and only at the place in the late afternoon/evening. I wasn’t aware that the AC is window units in the living rooms and bedrooms, wasn’t sure if that was in the listing or if I missed it. Also be mindful that the tub isn’t connected to the floor and my mother in law had to have assistance getting out of the tub.

Almost Heaven

Beautiful property in Brasstown NC. It's a calming, soothing, rejuvenating environment, tastefully decorated with a very spacious feel. Full of natural light from the wall of windows in front of the house. Literally five minutes from driveway of home to driveway of the Folkschool. If they'd sell it to me for what I have in my bank account, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

Love those sweeping mountain views!

I chose this listing for the views and we were thrilled with all of the windows on front of the house. Another favorite was the views off the back deck. We arrived early for check in due to my sister losing her wallet in Murphy and thank you to Apryl for her kindness. The house was beautifully furnished and we enjoyed all of the comforts of being home. A big plus for us was the Broan stove!

Cozy mountain retreat

We came up to this area while visiting family and had a wonderful stay. Apryl and Daniel were quick to respond to questions, very sweet to leave some waters and treats in the fridge and contacted us to see if we were still planning to stay during a snow storm. Everything was clean and in working order, the beds were comfortable and the location was beautiful. Thank you, Apryl & Daniel!

Fantastic!

The house is great and the hosts were wonderful. If you are looking for a house that is off the beaten path but easy to get to in the Brasstown area, this is your place. For people attending John C. Campbell Folk School, this is very convenient and cost competitive with on-site housing but way nicer then the on-site housing.

This cabin was amazing. It was furnished and decorated so beautifully, and extremely clean. The host had thought of everything needed to assure a pleasant stay. She was easy to communicate with, and checked to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We only stayed one night, but would love to go back when we could stay longer and enjoy this very nice cabin, along with the beautiful view.
