The location is great, right in the middle of the downtown area. Lots of cool shopping in the area. The hotel is in need of some rehab. But, the hotel is up front with that. And, it is not a big deal.

Whenever we need to stay in Brattleboro, we choose to stay at the Latchis. It’s an excellently preserved building with a great experience. The room was clean, well equipped and quiet. This time we purchased a “taste of Vermont” add on, and it was great. Delicious local cheese and crackers, chocolate and cider, a cherry wood cutting board and a small bottle of maple syrup in a beautiful presentation basket. All in all, this was an excellent trip.

Staff was outstanding! Informative, kind, engaging, helpful...facility is a wonderful, old building whose history has been respected. Convenient parking lot, and a very walkable area with great restaurants in the area. Looking forward to another stay!

Room was beyond filthy, bed sheets smelled awful. Carpet had stains all over it, windows were broken. No security at hotel, downtown area was littered with homeless and junkies. We stayed for about an hour, we turned our keys in and went home. Very disappointed

Great hotel with comfortable and clean rooms and a great bar and cinema downstairs. The historical fixtures and fittings make it a special and interesting place. Staff are very helpful and fixed a problem with a TV within an hour.

This is a charming historic hotel in a small but lively downtown district. I absolutely loved everything about it, from the historical backstory to the somewhat retro decor (but it has all the modern conveniences, too -- wifi, lots of outlets, etc.). I was especially impressed by the warm, welcoming staff. I'd stay here again anytime.
