Welcome to the Sugar Shack in the heart of downtown Brevard! We love this little recently renovated house. Walk to downtown in minutes from this cute home with a fenced back yard that's great for dogs. The open floor plan is perfect for entertaining. This house has off street parking and a metal shed for storing bikes and outdoor gear. There is a hose so you can wash off your gear after a day on the trails.

Furnishings are super comfy and the kitchen has everything you need except a dishwasher. There is a great front porch and the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. It's a quick walk from the house to everything Downtown Brevard has to offer, including shopping, dining, breweries, museums and more. The Brevard Music Center is a five minute drive, and you are only a quick drive from many other great bike trails in DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, and Gorges State Park. You can get to Pisgah Forest in about five minutes, the DuPont State Forest is about a 15 minute drive, and it takes about 30 minutes to get to the beautiful Gorges State Park. Asheville and Hendersonville are both about 40 minutes away, and both feature lots of attractions if you want to take a day trip or two.

Come join us for our annual festivals including the White Squirrel Festival in early June, great 4th of July festivals, the Mountain Song Festival every September, and lots of fun activities on Halloween (Brevard is in Transylvania County, after all).

Sugar Shack
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sugar Shack. The rental was clean, the kitchen and bath well-stocked, and the location (just a few short blocks off Main) was exceptional. Much of our at home time was spent in the fenced in back yard with our pet, being entertained by Brevard's famous white squirrels ( three at once!). Thank you for a lovely vacation.

Cute Cottage on edge of town.
The property was exactly as listed, a cute cottage within 10 minutes walk of the town. It was well equipped and comfortable and we would definitely stay there again if we come back to Brevard. Only jarring note was the amount of computer generated communications we were sent, followed up by the same message in the name of a property manager. A little impersonal but we were kept informed.

The only reason I gave less than 5 stars on Cleanliness is the musty smell that is present every time you enter the home. Once windows are opened and ceiling fans engaged, things improve. The home is very comfortable and every need is met. Communication from property managers was timely and spot on. The location is GREAT to wander downtown OR drive to scenic locations. Neighborhood is perfect for walking dogs. Even had TWO white squirrel sightings!

Our plans changed to another weekend and we were unable to stay at this property because it was already booked. Since we cancelled before the date, we were able to get 100% refund and booked another property. Just dropping a note of gratitude and thanks for an easy process and quick refund. We were quite comfortable in the Sugar Shack. We were able to stock the large refrigerator and there was a good selection of cookware to make our own meals. We were able to walk to downtown shops and restaurants. There were plenty of towels and we liked that we could use the washing machine. We liked the retro decor and quirky touches like repurposing an old porcelain water fountain for bathroom sink. Next time we’ll request screens in the bedroom windows so we can have fresh air.

Perfect spot
Had a great 4 night stay. Loved the decor of the house and the fenced in yard for my dog. Had everything I needed (except soap for the shower). Close to everything. Felt safe. I will book it again!

Great location
It was an easy walk into Brevard about 2 or 3 blocks and we were in the center of town. We played golf on two of the local golf clubs and ate in quite a few of the restaurants in town Had a time.
