I will start by stating that I have attempted to communicate with the owner via the VRBO Website but she has refused to respond to me on the website and instead sent me several messages via a whatsapp text at 1 AM in the morning and then attempted to video call me at 2 AM on the same morning, approximately 14 hours after I left the message on the site. I have taken screenshots of her messages and the VRBO site for confirmation, I also took two videos of the property before leaving the property. My complaint is that the listing is not as described. The majority of the photos in the listing are of the upstairs of the home which seems to be occupied by the property manager and owner of the home. My accommodations were in a daylight type basement room which was not bright and airy as the pictures and descriptions say. It was dark, damp, hot and stuffy and smelled of mildew. The room had no air conditioning unit as stated and there was no wifi listing or password provided. The adjoining kitchenette which is situated a step lower than the room was enclosed on all sides with doors leading to two additional rooms and was damp and dark as well. It had an A/C unit with a note taped to it that read "out of order." I was in Barbados on business and arrived later in the night and had an appointment the next morning. When I returned around 11:20-11:30ish AM the property manager was no where to be found to discuss the matter. As I had no wifi to get a call or text out, I walked to a local coffee shop and booked other arrangements for the remainder of my stay. The Property owner, again, has refused to communicate via VRBO and has also refused a refund of the remaining nights that I prepaid. I have compiled a folder of all photos and videos taken, screenshots of her communications via whatsapp and lack of communication via VRBO to verify the accuracy of my review. This folder is available upon request to VRBO for review of my complaint. I am very disappointed with this stay.
