Green Mountain Village Getaway in picturesque Bristol, Vermont.
Tucked in the lush green mountains is this in-town quintessential New England home with modern updates. Incredible local restaurants, a wonderful park, craft beer and bars are within walking distance of this in-town home. Hiking, swimming, biking, lakes, skiing and relaxing are easily accessible. 30 min from Sugarbush/Mad River Glen, 20 min from Middlebury, 40 min from Burlington, 30 min from 2 lakeside Vermont State Parks. Our 1890 s village farmhouse has the quirks and charms of an old house with some modern upgrades to kitchen, baths, and mudroom. Enjoy to two porches and stone patio after your daily adventures in the area. This house is perfect for families, kids, and friends. Located on a quiet street in a classic Vermont village (a team of horses and wagon even comes by on Friday mornings to collecting the recycling!). If you are looking for a spacious comfortable house to use as a homebase to explore Vermont then we are your place.
It's a very big space - we had four people and there was tons of room. Didn't touch the thermostat and it was very cold out - every room was toasty. Good location, close to town.
This lovely old Bristol home was the perfect rendezvous point for our family reunion. Our "permanent party" group of seven enjoyed quiet bedrooms, good beds and lovely linens. The two ful bathrooms- suited everybody perfectly. As various local relatives came and and went over the weekend. The well-equipped kitchen gave us everything we could want, and more, with its comfy adjoining sitting area. We took advantage of the varied seating areas throughout the house, on the porch, and at the fire pit just outside the back door. The decor, books, and wall art were genuinely interesting, original, and thoughtful. Everybody felt comfortable, whether participating in a group discussion or enjoying a bit of quiet down-time. The delightful village of Bristol is all within easy walking distance from the front door. Our early June timing was perfect, as the houses and gardens were coming into their full summer glory. We had a great time and are ever so glad we found this house. At the end of our stay, our hosts were kind enough to offer a "relaxed" checkout time, as nobody was checking in immediately after us. I definitely hope to return. It felt like home.
The property had much better accommodations than were described in VRBO. One KING bed, 2 queens, a double and a twin, as well as one or two futons. Kitchen and dining were well equipped and could seat 8-10. Plenty of lounging areas. Comfy and cozy, great for our family. Only downside is 4 bedroom upstairs with one bath, one bath on main floor where futon/sofas are, and bedroom with king bed is accessed through the bathroom. We worked it out!
I stayed here with three friends for a weekend getaway. The house is roomy and clean. Bristol has a cute little downtown that is very walk-able from this location. We did one day of skiing at Sugarbush which was about a 35 minute drive in bad weather, so would be even quicker with clear skies.
One of the reasons we selected this house was the outdoor hot tub and it did not disappoint! Troy was a great, available host. This place comes as advertised and was perfect for our little weekend getaway!
