Breakfast is good, staff is very friendly. Property conditions are average, maybe little bit old
Don't be fooled by the quaint exterior. I rejected the first room I was given and the second was not much better. Both rooms needed to be completely refurbished. The beds were awful.Touching the lamp made all the lights go out. There was barely enough space to open a suitcase.
Room was lovely. Tea, coffee etc very good. Linens and towels pristine. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. Bathroom was adequate, clean but shabby. The day I was there the chef was off sick, so no hot food.
Overall very good.
The total experience was truly positive, very friendly staff for which nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable room with good facilities. Excellent quality breakfast with a good choice. I will be returning in the future.
Great value hotel in Clifton area, walkable to everything and has available parking. Rooms small but comfortable, no AC but even though hot weather when we stayed a fan provided adequate cooling. Very friendly staff and great breakfast.
Breakfast was a disaster….a staff member made inappropriate comments about other people in my party.
Only a few items for my breakfast order arrived and my friends breakfast was not served at all. When I asked where the rest of the breakfast was she said there is nothing available as the chef had left for her next job!
Good location but expensive for a three star hotel
Breakfast was average with some items missing from the English breakfast - on both days we were there. The toast making facilities were very bad.
The room was average with one of the beds nearly blocking the bathroom door.
There was no extractor fan in the bathroom.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
I guess the room is not a soundproof, I hear my nextdoor coughing.
Our 2 night stay at the Washington was lovely we were there for the Gromet Trail 3, the room was clean and well presented the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast was nice. It is a short walk to Clifton village with bars and shops also close the bus routes, The only thing the car park was small.

Liked: Staff & service
Functional, no frills, & perhaps a little tired, but friendly staff & clean bedroom were the important things. The shared bathroom kind of worked, although it could have done with a little more attention in the cleaning. On the whole an ok stay, I’d certainly use again

Disliked: Amenities
All the public areas, door handles, TV remote control, window sills carpets and bed spreads need a deep clean. Otherwise, the reception staff and breakfast service staff were great. It’s a shame that the lack of cleanliness lets them down
The hotel was in a good location and the reception staff were friendly. It felt very safe as a solo, female traveller.
For the price, the bedroom and en-suite were well designed and very comfortable. However, there was a bit of a damp smell in my basement room, there were several patches of peeled paint, neither bedside lamp worked and the sash window rattled considerably. Unfortunately, they were unable to move me without me checking out at 11 and checking in again at 3, which wasn’t possible due to a wedding. With a bit of maintenance, the room would be excellent for the price.
Very tired decor however bed linen and towels were clean. Bed was comfy. Fairly good breakfast although basic
- more attention needs to be paid to wiping and clearing tables, cleaning sauce bottles and replenishing the small buffet.Welcome was friendly. Shower was fairly weak and went hot and cold, the sink, taps and bath were old and stained through age. The bedroom carpet and walls were were also quite stained. The hotel is in a very good position to go out for the evening.
Staff were really good. Howver the room was too small for 2 adults and 1 child, there was no space for the travel cot. Plus the windows were really dangerous for a small baby who is walking and exploring. Bathroom is really outdated and as a result feels grubby.
