The Space:

On a scenic rural lifestyle block close to New Plymouth, Bell Block, Waitara & Inglewood proudly sits a prestigious homestead, another world away from the hustle and bustle of city living. From the moment you enter the long sweeping driveway, you will immediately know you are embarking on something truly unique and special. Surrounded by stunning gardens and a rural setting, proudly sits The Homestead waiting for you to visit.



Wonderfully inviting, the homestead offers 3 beautiful bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a quaint and quirky sleepout, and plenty of living areas to relax on your vacation. The main house sleeps 6 guests, while the sleepout features a bunk, double at the bottom and single on top, providing children with their own quaint sleeping environment. This property is pet friendly for small dogs only (please ask).

Conflicting thoughts

Lovely location House is in need of a little TLC. The impressive looking bathroom lacked any water pressure for the fancy shower head and it would have been good to have a floor squeegee to mop up the water. Lounge furniture could do with an upgrade. The ripped couch didn't quite fit with the overall grandeur of the rest of the property. Was great that we could take our dog along. Host was friendly and curteous.

Bridal Accommodation

We booked the accomodation for my wedding, the property manager came over and chatted and explained there would be a tree taken down on the Saturday, I requested that the driveway remain free for guests to come and go throughout the day but had no problems with the diggers etc... the next morning was checkout and he came back with a hamper full of goodies to apologise for the tree removal... he was so lovely and the gift was so kind. as I was the bride I was slightly hungover so I hadn't read the predeparture email unfortunately so I know I didn't clean the house as I should've... so that was totally my bad, I apologise for that. But thankyou so so much for your hospitality and kindness, made my wedding day that much more special, thankyou so much :)

Beautiful house

We had a great time exploring Mt Taranaki with our kids and this house made the perfect place to stay. A lovely rural setting without being too far from Mt Taranaki and New Plymouth. The house itself is lovely and well equipped to cook dinner or relax with a glass of wine. The hosts were very welcoming, we would definitely recommend!

Mixed feelings

While we had a fun stay in this lovely old farm homestead, we were constantly having to contact the agent and/or owner in order to get help with the tv, heater in kitchen, finding a corkscrew. Unfortunately only the master bedroom has full curtains and two bedside lamps—the other two bedrooms only have sheers, one bedside lamp room 2, none in room 3. Water pressure in the large bathroom is very poor. Lots of cobwebs in the house. The furniture in the lounge/tv room is very uncomfortable. We nevertheless made the most of our time in the house (the kitchen is superb!) and really appreciated that we could have our dogs with us, and there was plenty of space on the property for them to sniff around and play. The owner, Dave, who lives on the property is a very friendly chap who was most helpful in sorting out a few issues we had. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful house, great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely house and setting. We had a problem getting into the outside chalet due to the lock but the house managers were quickly onsite to resolve the issue. The house is very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely and relaxing

This property is simply gorgeous. The setting is slightly rural which suited us perfectly but close enough New Plymouth itself. It was well equipped with everything we needed. A gorgeous place to stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book it again if we visit that way.

A Home away from Home

This is a very spacious property with a beautiful layout. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Homestead. Not too far from New Plymouth, Rewa Rewa Bridge Cycleway and the Christmas Village. Great orchard adjoining the property and the children picked lemons for our afternoon refreshing lemonade. The property is clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. All in all we had a wonderful stay - thank you!!
