The bed was comfortable. The curtains were too short for the window so the light was coming in all night. The cutlery and cups in the room were dirty. Staff were nice but the place needs a serious overhaul.

Good location Great to get after hours key Good layout. Great for a stopover Very noisy. On main road 24 hour food place accross the road Air con and fridge were very loud Very old. You get what you pay for.

Motel is on the Main Street so night noise is expected and the railway is very close so train whistles go at all hours but even with that I would stay there again. Rooms are not ground level so if you can’t do stairs it would be no good.

Comfortable and basic

The staff at Matilda were fab, very helpful and attentive. When I needed extra nights due to the cyclone affecting my plans, they were very accommodating and I even got to stay on the same room. Overall, the room was comfortable and satisfied my needs. I felt it was overpriced due to it being rather rundown and in need of updating, plus the pool was unusable (it was very dirty and had the pool hoover (or something) in it) which was one of the main reasons I booked this motel.

Pick up your act and check the room.

We arrived after the office had closed so we collected our keg from the locked box. When we entered our room, we found wet towels on the floor and the basin had shaving hair all over it, also someone's used soap was left in the soap holder in the shower. The coffee cups and glasses looked like they had not been washed.
