Tucked beneath broad sycamore branches on our 277-acre Ozark ranch, Secret Sycamore is a secluded bell tent where dark skies and quiet woods do the hosting. Cross two footbridges over Sinking Creek and follow the short wooded path to your private site. Morning coffee comes with birdsong; evenings end under a sky full of stars.
Inside the tent you’ll sleep comfortably on two queen-size beds with fresh linens. There’s full in-room climate control with both A/C and heat, so the space stays comfortable in every season. A light kitchen area makes simple meals easy: a small refrigerator–freezer combo for cold storage, a microwave for quick heat-ups, and a coffee machine for unrushed mornings.
Cooking outside is part of the fun here. Your private fire pit includes a grill grate for campfire dinners, and there’s an electric griddle you can plug in just outside the tent. A picnic table and seating give you an easy spot for meals or card games beneath the trees.
The shared bathhouse is nearby and was designed for comfort after a day on the trails, with beautiful, private showers and toilets. If you need to check in online, Wi-Fi is available at the bathhouse.
When you’re ready to explore, wander right from camp. Our property has miles of marked trails through forest and fields, and we’re bordered by thousands of public acres in the Mark Twain National Forest. Hike to your heart’s content, or bring e-bikes, dirt bikes, and ATVs to use on designated routes. Horses are welcome too—just give us a quick call ahead so we can prepare.
Secret Sycamore is set up for travelers who want nature without giving up the basics: real beds, climate control, a simple kitchenette, and a clean place to refresh. Salem, the nearest town with shops and supplies, is about 35 minutes away. Nights are wonderfully dark here, so don’t forget to look up—you’ll see the stars behind the stars.
