In the North Sea resort of Tossens, at Aida Park, right behind the dike, our inviting beach promenade with plenty of greenery awaits you. The new pirate-themed Frisian beach offers a unique vacation atmosphere! Tossens features a variety of restaurants, cafés, bistros, and the subtropical water park at “Center Parcs.” Everything is within walking distance. The other sports and recreational facilities at Center Parcs are also available to our guests (for a fee). Or you can simply hop on a bike and cycle around the peninsula—the network of bike paths is excellent.
Shopping, doctors, a pharmacy, wellness and spa treatments—all of this is available or accessible in Tossens. Wind and weather, mixed with a breeze of salty air, create a healthy climate. The green peninsula offers a natural experience in every season. Butjadingen is a peninsula and municipality on the German North Sea coast, bordered by the Jadebusen to the west, the North Sea to the north, and the Weser River to the east. It’s the ideal starting point for trips to Wilhelmshaven to visit the Coastal Museum, the Aquarium, or Oceanis—or you can head in the other direction to Bremerhaven to visit the Zoo am Meer, the Atlanticum with its seawater aquarium, the Schaufenster Fischereihafen, the German Maritime Museum, and the Klimahaus.
Jaderberg is home to “Jaderpark,” an adventure park for the whole family featuring an interesting zoo, an attractive amusement park, an exciting adventure park, and a weather-proof fun park.
In nearby Sehestedt lies the world’s only floating bog.
The North Sea Lagoon in Butjadingen is located directly on the Grünstrand beach in Burhave (a neighboring town). The lagoon is surrounded by a fine sandy beach that slopes gently into the water. It’s ideal for children, who can run around and splash about here. The swimming area also offers plenty of space. The entire lake is supervised by the DLRG. Numerous play options—such as the climbing tower, a water zip line, Pirate Island, and pedal boats—turn the lagoon into a huge adventure playground.
On the sunbathing lawns, you can relax in a beach chair, and the beach volleyball and soccer fields provide plenty of opportunities to play even out of the water, all with a view of the North Sea. But even when the tide goes out, you can keep swimming in the lagoon. The man-made lake is fed directly from the North Sea but is not affected by the tides.
