Spacious Unit Fantastic Location
Overall, we were quite happy with our stay at Villa La Estancia. Itâs a nice property, well kept, solid food and drinks from the poolside restaurant. The location is fantastic, walkable via the beach or street to downtown restaurants, bars, stores and markets. The ocean in front of the hotel was friendly enough for the kids to enter with caution. The unit we stayed in was different than the one we booked, however this was communicated a few days ahead of our arrival. We were told it was an âupgradeâ, and perhaps thatâs true from a view standpoint, but not certain that holds true for any other features. The king bed was not comfortable, but not a deal breaker. Our check-in experience was less than ideal. While we were aware that check-in time wasnât until 4 PM, we were disappointed with the complete lack of flexibility . We arrived at 1PM, were told the room wasnât ready yet, which we completely understood. So, we changed into our suits, had lunch/drinks, played in the pool and went back to the lobby at 3:40 only to be told the room still wasnât ready. Sure enough, like magic, at 4:01 we were handed the keys to finally enter. Weâll stay at this resort again. The property managers were pleasant, just donât expect any grace from the front desk whatsoever.
