The Lensfield Hotel is a haven of happiness. Family run hotel for over 50 years! Very welcoming and friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby is spacious yet cosy and there is a seating area to work or just relax with bar and warm drinks. Breakfast excellent: fresh patissieries, croissants and all things continental with wonderful selection of fruits and yogurts and preserves. Excellent service too. Bedroom v comfortable, clean and warm. Cosy and private. I would highly recommend this gem in the centre of Cambridge

I stayed here last year, So you knew about the place before staying this time. The position within Cambridge is a huge plus. The pricing is at the cheaper end of what is available in Cambridge. However, it has everything needed for a comfortable night stay. We left before breakfast to get an early train, but I believe it’s a buffet breakfast. It’s also walkable from the train station. I would say approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Comfortable stay with lovely, helpful staff. The hotel sits on a main road but is quiet. Parking was a bit awkward but staff directed me towards residential parking with no extra cost. I would return.

My shortest ever stay
Well, I left and didn’t stay. Even when I’d paid in advance. The room was £152 and when I arrived my heart sank. It just seemed old and tired and in a style similar to 1980s tv show fawlty towers. Anyway, I persevered and was shown to my room. When I opened the bedroom door a wave of musty damp smell hit me and I knew it wasn’t for me. I complained and was shown to an alternative room. I have to say it was pleasant service and the assistant did try to help. But the family room option was equally depressing albeit without the smell. In summary I’d say go elsewhere if you can afford to. If the budget is tight you’ll be ok here but measure your expectations.
