COAST NEST | Relaxing Beach Retreat | Ideal for Couples | Pet Friendly

Coast Nest exudes Cape beach culture with its peaceful natural surrounds and beach shack vibe. It’s spacious, light, clean & super comfy with amenities that set us apart, fireplace, hammock, outdoor shower, pet friendly, quality books, games, wifi & more. Relax in style & enjoy all day sun from east & west decks. Unwind in nature, explore the pristine beaches, wild coastline, abundant wildlife. Grab a drink or meal at the local cafe or tavern on your way home. A great base to explore the Bass Coast region including Wilson’s Prom, Philip Island and Inverloch.
THE HOME: Coast Nest is freshly renovated, but still retains a great shack vibe that will take you back to your childhood beach holidays!

The house can accommodate up to 5 guests (including infants). The bedding configuration would suit one or two couples, 3 singles or a family whose children are happy to share one room.

OUR AMENITIES

- Linen including sheets, doonas, towels and ample blankets/throws.
- Evaporative cooling, fans and air conditioning for summer.
- Split system heating or wood heating for winter (please bring own wood - available from Bunnings or service stations). An additional panel heater is available for the bedrooms.
- Tea, coffee and pantry staples included.
- Outdoor dining with two outdoor seating areas - an east facing deck with table for 4, ideal for mornings, plus a covered rear west facing deck with lounge, hammock, fire pit, outdoor seating for 6 and Weber BBQ.
- Spacious open plan interior with two lounge areas and separate kitchen/dining area.
- Wifi, Smart TV, plus a range of toys, games & books and magazines.
- Outdoor hot shower to wash off the sand after a busy day at the beach.
- Large laundry with washing machine and separate toilet.
- Kitchen is well equipped and includes dishwasher, large fridge, ceramic cooktop, stone benches, microwave, coffee machine and plenty of crockery and cutlery.

BEDROOMS:

Bedroom 1 - One Queen Bed (at one end) and a King Single plus inner spring trundle bed at the other end. The trundle converts to a comfortable full height single bed (on request). This room also has a large (solid) sliding door which separates it from the main lounge area.

PET FRIENDLY

Coast Nest is pet friendly. We have a fully fenced garden which is well suited to mature and well behaved dogs. The rear covered deck, outdoor shower, dog friendly beaches (check times on signs), ample walking tracks and dog agility park (the Cape Estate) make Cape Paterson a puppy paradise.

Please Note: A two dog (or other pet) limit applies. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture and beds as fur is difficult to remove and some of our guests may have allergies. Additional fees apply if pet fur or odour needs to be removed.

THE LOCAL AREA

There is a lovely oval and kids playground around the corner from Coast Nest. The Bay Beach is about a 5-7 min walk and First Surf 10-15 min walk from Coast Nest. Local shops and cafes are an easy 10 min stroll from our place.

We also have great bird life at Coast Nest, as well as possums, wombats, echidnas and the occasional Koala! Each morning you will be woken (not too early hopefully) by wattlebirds, eastern spine bills and honey eaters. The stars are also amazing at Cape Paterson - make sure you light the fire pit, grab some marshmallows and a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful night sky!

The property was really nice and suited our family. The only downside was that the hot water ran out one afternoon and was not hot again until the following afternoon. The owner was quick to respond to our needs, by arranging a plumber asap.

Absolutely Perfect Getaway!

My husband and I have just spent three wonderful nights at Coast Nest. The accommodation was lovely: spacious, clean, comfortable with a well appointed kitchen with everything we needed. We really felt like we were staying at a friend’s home. Our Labrador had a wonderful time exploring the large, fenced garden. The house is in a great location, a short drive or leisurely walk to a great dog-friendly beach. We’d love to return sometime in the future.

Peaceful Retreat

MotoGP adventure 2024

We decided to stay the other side of the island this year and stayed at COAST NEST about a 40 minute (non Sunday) drive to the circuit. The house is wonderfully cosy clean and really well appointed with modern bathroom and a great shower (hate places that have a shower that seems to dribble over you!). Nice that you are among the locals without being on top of them. Two of the nights we sat out on the front balcony to reflect on the day's racing. Wonthaggi is only 8 minutes away and on the Friday and Saturday nights we ate at the Cape Tavern which was great. Strongly recommned the general store at Kilcunda for coffee and breakfast. Beautfiul part of the world. Thank you Heather :)

Home away from home

With all the comforts of home this is a great place to base yourself for a Gippsland holiday. Much of the area off peak season has dog friendly beaches and even a couple of off leash areas. Highly recommend this property if you are looking to just dial down and relax

What a wonderful break!

Heather could not be more accommodating and thoughtful, from the welcome box of cookies to clear instructions for wifi and the manual to share about the local area. This is a sweet, cosy cabin and I loved snuggling under blankets and enjoying the fireplace with a few books. The tavern is so close with beautiful meals, too. I’ll be back again!

Comfy Cape retreat

A great stay with lots of lovely little touches (nice hand wash, chocolate and sparkling water when we arrived, gorgeous linen and blankets). Very clean, comfy retreat and felt like being spoiled that we were able to enjoy somewhere like this with a dog! Thanks to Heather for making it possible on very short notice. We had a fabulous time and would definitely recommend.

Perfect Getaway

Coast Next is a beautiful retreat to recharge yourself. The description is quiet accurate, very clean with everything you would need for a coastal getaway. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

Little slice of heaven

I was instantly impressed when we arrived at this property! Practical & lovely- everything we needed with x2 small children including Lego, books, board games, high chair & little people steps and a secure yard for the kids and our pooch to explore with a relaxing feel. We toasted marshmallows by the fire pit and relaxed in the deck on comfortable outdoor furniture. Bike riding to the beach was a favourite and exploring all the treasures the rock pools and rock formations had to offer. 5 stars and hoping to return to this little slice of heaven!

Relaxing and well equipped house in a great location

The house and location were wonderful. It has a relaxing feel and a great deck area out the back to sit and read or have a BBQ. Nice easy walk to wonderful beaches and a great place to base yourself for drives to areas such as Phillip Island, Wonthagi, Inverloch and Kirrumburra. Was wonderful holiday for our dog too! Would recommend for couples or families.

Warm and welcoming pet friendly home!

We loved our stay over the Anzac long weekend. We had amazing weather through the day but cooler nights so we could enjoy the lovey fireplace. As a family we travel a lot and many places we have stayed that are pet friendly are cold and not very welcoming. This place is far from that! The house has everything you need to enjoy with your stay and Heather has thought of little things to make it feel homely. The small touches make all the difference. Thank you for having us all!
