I was given an upgraded room as the spa facilities were out of order. The room was very clean and bed very comfy. There was a coffee maker in the room and a free mini bar. Lovely views overlooking the city. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. It was my birthday there was a card brought to my room with a special biscuit saying happy birthday. I was given a drinks voucher to celebrate in the bar. Very nice

The main reason we booked Holland house was because we planned to use the pool, but we arrived and the pool was closed. Unexpected problems can happen but we booked the day before when the pool was already closed and it was not advised! When we left it was still closed though advertised online. There was no resolution to it and the complains were never answered. The central heating doesn’t seem work cos all the rooms have many electric heaters that take a while to heat up the room.

Breakfast was great, room a good size. The hotel including restaurant and bar area is very pleasant and comfortable. Excellent value for money and very convenient location. I didn't appreciate having to pay £5 to leave my luggage for a few hours though after checking out. I would definitely stay there again.

Hotel was beautiful! It was clean and tidy all throughout. Reception and check in was smoothe and efficient . Disappointing the pool / spa area wasnt working. No warning to this prior to booking and it was for a birthday so planned to use the spa the next day

Room was tired, also having been to the rugby where we got soaked would have been nice to come back to a warm room, but no only two portable oil heaters were the only heating in there, so was quite cold . Bed was large and comfy and the shower was nice and hot . Tea , coffee provided.We have stayed for the last two years but this will probably be the last , paid £209 for a night , worth it ? Not really tbh

The receptionist did not set our keys properly and had a poor attitude. A party was occupying the restaurant, but we were still charged a tray charge for room service. The bed keeps pulling apart where it can become a twin.

One grievance and one observation. My biggest issue was the fact, having stayed here with my daughter before while visiting to watch the rugby, we chose this for the swimming pool. There currently isn’t one for the foreseeable future but this isn’t mentioned anywhere. Their own website states it as an amenity, Expedia does also and it appears in searches ‘with a pool’. What I paid, and what people I heard on the day paying was much more and I didn’t get the primary amenity I wanted and had a disappointed daughter. A simple communication that it’s not currently open would have greatly helped change plans. At the hotel my discussions were literally ignored and I had merely a ‘sorry’ with no empathy as to why I was aggrieved. The observation was just that in our room 407, the sink taps are labelled wrong (hot is cold an vice versa), that’s madness from a premium hotel and also dangerous when what you think will be a cold glass of water is very hot. Will never visit again.

The spa facilities weren’t available due to maintenance which was a real shame as this was one reason we chose the hotel . There could have been more options for breakfast. Coffee wasn’t very nice , it was a lot of money for the hotel so expected more , overpriced for what it was , but it was a nice experience. Loved the underground parking as felt it was safe .
