Extremely loud and overpriced massively

No problems with staff or room however we were not given any notice of an ongoing event that was close by to the hotel a prom or something like that that kept us awake till late! For the extortionate price we paid for the hotel which I think is ridiculous hotels can get away with cos if an even going on! We would have liked to be told about it!

Ideal location for visiting Cardiff, right opposite the castle. Walking distance for shops, eateries, bars, castle and museum. Hotel has no parking itself but there's an NCP just around the corner. Useful disabled access door and lift round the right hand side of the hotel. Sadly only one of the two lifts was working. No air con but the room did have a fan provided. Nice spacious bathroom and bedroom, lovely toiletries and the hotel has a really good recycling system. Learned during my stay Wales is the best UK country for recycling & ⅓ in the world, so happy to oblige & do our bit!

Location was really the only positive here.

The location of this hotel was perfect for getting out and about in Cardiff. Right within all the main hustle and bustle, bars and restaurants all walking distance and a lively view of the castle grounds. I think this is probably the only reason the hotel is still going. The staff were lovely and friendly. There was no air conditioning in the room even though this is advertised online and with it being mid heat wave, our room was absolutely roasting hot on the 3rd floor. The windows didn’t open fully or stay open even when were managed to get them open and ended up folding towels to wedge them open allow a bit of air to flow through. The breakfast was poor and they couldn’t keep up with keeping the trays of food or juices full. Everything with a bit dated, a bit run down and a bit in need of TLC. One of the lifts was out of order and the other sounded like it was about to breakdown any miniature so we avoided its use. It was a shame and definitely not as advertised.

Ideally located in city centre, convenient for Principality Stadium, Cardiff Castle & Blackweir Fields. The rooms are very tired and dated, although the bed was really comfy and we had a good nights sleep. The bathroom wasn’t the best, dirty bath, stained towels and stained curtains. Quite noisy outside but to be expected given its location near pubs and nightlife. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful. Overall pretty good value hotel.

Close to the train station and centre, within 5 minute walk. Booked a room for the night for a concert at the Utilita Arena, it’s an old building so don’t expect the Ritz. Breakfast was lovely. Good price hotel in a fantastic location

Convenient location for city centre, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel had forgotten to set up the camp bed in the family room with 2 children, after speaking to reception this was resolved in 15 mins. As others have mentioned in reviews the decor is a bit tired, but rooms and bathrooms were clean, double beds comfy, and towels white and fluffy

It was cheap and close to the arena so you get what you pay for. Beds were comfy enough, tv worked and staff were friendly. The hotel is in dire need of a renovation, especially the bathroom which was clean but very tired.

Lovely staff & location but very tired & dated

Really friendly staff and great location. Nice and clean throughout. Bag drop was really efficient. However, pls don’t believe the photos as it’s a very tired hotel throughout and the bedrooms (we had 2, so a fair sample) are very worn with old decor and dirty bedroom windows that hadn’t been cleaned for years. Also the bar had v slow service - a nice lady when she was there, but two lots of guests waited several minutes to be served before leaving empty handed as the staff member was absent for extended periods. We expected more for the cost. Dated decor the staff’s fault, it’s the senior management that need to seriously invest money to turn this (wonderful old) building around.

The room was a great size and fine but the hotel is really tired and old and in need of a refurb. Windows opened in room which was nice. One of the lifts was “over heated” and out of services for a bit which made me take the stairs! Staff were very nice.

Booked 2 single rooms for myself and a friend. One room was changed as it smelt heavy of smoke. The new room offered had issue with the tv not working. And 2 of the lights did not work. The receptionist popped up but could not tune it in so wasn’t able to watch Glastonbury . Quite disappointing as we paid a good rate.
