Staff were very nice and polite, lift was a bit intermittent and I ended up having to walk up 3 flights. Don’t like the 3rd floor with sloped ceilings and having to bend down as I have a bad back. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay

Tired building, furniture and felt like I was sleeping in the nightclub due to no double glaze windows. Very noisy so I haven’t slept for two nights but overall had a good weekend, good food, entertainment and the hotel was okay other than the noise.

Beds clean and comfy, room in need of updating especially bathroom vinyl flooring also floor noisy to walk on,however it is an old building. For one night it was perfect for us.Breakfast was good plenty of choice.Lovely staff all very welcoming and hotel very close to the station and in the middle of all the bars and shops.

Acceptable for the price.
Bearing ion mind that is a 2 star hotel and exceptionally well priced, I would say my stay was closer to 3 stars than 2. The lift was not working on arrival and I had to climb to the 3rd floor with my suitcase and backpack. I have a major health issue and this was tough. The hotel is generally run down and shabby, but the staff are pleasant and the breakfast was excellent. Housekeeping was quite poor and only the bare minimum was done. The room was comfortable and there was plenty of tea, coffe milk, etc.
This is an old style hotel with huge public spaces and big staircases but the rooms are very comfortably equipped. Comfortable bed, tea and coffee maker, TV with a big bathroom with bath and shower. Although it's in the centre of town next to the bars and nightlife, I had a comfortable quiet night because the building is stone and well insulated. It's 100m from the railway station at the top of the strip which has bars and restaurants - it has it's own bar and restaurant as well. It was also a great price and one of the cheapest in Carlisle. A really good price for a really good hotel.
It wasn't the hotel's problem that the lift broke down but we had to cancel last night and come home early. They dealt with everything fantastically and we will be back.
Enjoyed our night stay and will be back soon.

It's a bit dated but my room was clean and had everything you would need.
Breakfast looked good although I didn't have any.
Good for a cheaper overnight stay.

Disliked: Staff & service
The reception staff did not look up, just handed me a room key. There were lots of 'couples' going up and down the stairs, this made me uncomfortable and the area outside was noisy and felt unsafe. I decided not stay overnight at this hotel
