Very disappointing stay
This was my first time to use Vrbo to book accommodation, although I have booked with many other agencies all over the world. I wont be using them again based on the experience. As raised with the management company both during our stay and since, we were really disappointed. This was because of the issues we faced, and the lack of any real support or communication offered by the team. The hot water was not working for half our stay and we received no real support to get it working again, generally the implication throughout was that we hadn't done something. The plumber who eventually came and had to replace a part in the boiler was surprised at some of the instructions that we as holiday tenants had been asked to do. In following one of these instructions, I got an electric shock, which I reported but this wasn’t acknowledged by the management team. There were various other issues which I raised during our stay, for example, rubbish piled up outside the bins and overflowing in the bins themselves. The house generally unclean, smelt musty and surfaces sticky, given the boiler wasn't working it obviously hasn't seen hot water for some time. We were offered a small amount of compensation which I don’t feel enough for half our holiday being affected and are still waiting for this. The house itself could have been nice, it was basic, but the beds were comfortable on the whole, it has an established garden although few chairs or places to sit in it.
