Casa Veneziana Chania, Casa Veneziana
Welcome to Casa Veneziana, where timeless elegance meets modern comfort in the heart of Chanias historic old town. We are Artemis and Spiros, your hosts. Our mission is to make you feel right at home, immerse you in the local way of life, and help you create unforgettable memories and lifelong connections during your stay. Casa Veneziana is more than just a place to stay--its a piece of history. This 15th-century Venetian mansion, once our family home, has been lovingly restored with great attention to detail, preserving its original charm while introducing modern touches. With a spacious 170m2 layout, the house offers a perfect blend of vintage and contemporary design, seamlessly combining traditional Cretan architecture with modern comfort. Step inside and feel the warmth of a home once filled with family gatherings and the laughter of friends--values of Cretan hospitality that we hold dear and wish to share with you. Our family-run souvenir shop lies right beneath the house, adding a personal touch to your experience and offering a range of locally crafted treasures to remember your visit.
extremely convenient location. Our hosts were very, very responsive. very old and beautifully restored home. I do think that the third bedroom, which is a very small loft over the kitchen, is a little bit overstated and the steps leading up to it are somewhat risky.
This is a beautiful property and excellent location - HOWEVER BE AWARE BEFORE YOU BOOK - there are two things that you should be aware of that we did not know. You cannot drive directly to the property. You have to be dropped off or park and walk approximately 3 blocks to the property. Also, if you have mobility issues be aware that there are alot of stairs. Stairs to get into the property, stairs to get upstairs to the bedrooms and stairs to get up to the bathroom. Also the tub sits very high and is difficult to climb into for shower. Otherwise, our family of 6 had a wonderful time and would recommend the property. It's in a crowded area but many convenient shops and restaurants and at the water. I would recommend staying here because you are not in the city, you feel as though you are back in time.
If we could give a thousand stars we would. The hosts were so very helpful and kind and generous. We stayed over Christmas and there was a beautiful tree and a lovely bottle of wine waiting to welcome us. They organised a taxi to pick us up from the ferry and to take us back to the ferry at the end of our stay. We cannot thank them enough and would highly recommend this stayz to anyone.
This lovely large home in the center of old town Chania is a touristâs dream spot. With lots of charm & space, the home is within a 5 minute walk of all of the best restaurants we went to during our stay in Greece (aside from one in Athens).
The beds were a little sparsely dressed, but the individual bedrooms had their own individual heat/AC units. Real units, not window units. These things were top of the line & quiet.
Spiros is a lovely host, and even rushed over at midnight when our key wouldnât work.
If you stay here, make sure to get a view of the snow capped mountains of Crete from the incredibly large rooftop terrace
We absolutely loved our stay here, everything was top notch and the hosts were extremely accommodating and friendly. Right in the heart of downtown 1 block back from the harbor. One of the nicest places to stay in downtown.
