The property had good mountain views and the close proximity to Waynesville was very convenient but the cleanliness was definitely not there as you can see in the photos and I have a lot more but I could only download 8. We found someone else's clothes, condoms and jar of coconut oil in the dresser drawers in two of the rooms. The stove, microwave, toaster oven and fridge were all dirty. Found a random dried liquid on the floor in the master bedroom. Baseboards, window sills and cabin decor were very dusty and obviously hadn't been wiped down in quite a while. I purchased steaks for everyone and had intentions on grilling them but once we pulled the cover off of the grill we noticed in was in pieces an inoperable as you can see in the photos. The firepit was definitely not as described in the listing and was full of trash with no chairs to even sit by a fire. Tried to contact the host (Jennifer Bodnar) through VRBO the day we checked in to see if we could get these issues resolved, with no luck and as of todays date we still haven't heard from them.

Beautiful view!

Loves the back porch, pretty Mountain View. And hot tub! Main living area was great for two people, but would be a bit tight for larger groups. Also, I would recommend adding a nightlight in bedroom. We truly relaxed in this tranquil spot!

Escaping the Florida Heat

This is the 6th time we’ve stayed at this home. The back porch has the best view you can hope for. The home is small and cozy but just what we need as most of our time is on the porch or enjoying NC. Owners are responsive and our dogs feel right at home. Until we live in Waynesville full time, we’ll continue to stay here.

Relaxing getaway

Mixed feelings

For those that skim the reviews, I'll list our negative impressions first...there were also positives. The first thing that hit us were the cameras on both front and back porches that aren't mentioned in the VRBO description. No biggie, I understand security cameras on a vacation property. However, these cameras are aimed to have a full view of both porches. IOW, if one simply wants to sit and enjoy the mountain views, so much as checking your watch or simply rocking in a rocking chair will trigger the motion sensor. My fiance refused to sit out there for this reason since these cameras also record sound (I have the same model on my house). On the second day of our stay, we were awoken from a nap in the early afternoon by loud voices. Discovered a couple standing right next to the front porch. Naturally, I approached to ask what was going on and the male said "I'm the owner" offering no other proof, not even a name. They then proceeded to continue wandering around the yard for a bit before going back to the firepit area and sitting on their tailgates drinking beer before finally leaving. Our first thought was would they have let themselves into the house had our car not been there since they didn't notify us of their presence before doing whatever they were doing. I've been doing vacation rentals since before VRBO existed...first time ever for this sort of thing. Otherwise, the property is conveniently located with a nice mountain view and well equipped. :-)

Escape to the mountains!I

Truly the most incredible views from the back deck no matter what time of day. Spring was in full bloom, a most beautiful time!! The home is a very short drive to town and we dined out most evenings, great restaurants to choose from. Would definitely stay here again.

Great family getaway

We came up to visit my son at school over the Easter holiday. The house was very cute and well-appointed less than a mile from downtown Waynesville. Our favorite thing was chilling on the porch and gazing at the Blue Ridge Mtns. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful home!

We were in town for a wedding, and wanted a space to stay with my parents and kids. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed. It was clean, and there was even a bonus space where the kids could hang out and play games while the adults were downstairs. The hot tub was an added bonus and the view was GORGEOUS. Will definitely be back!

Bedrooms are large. Living areas are compact. Would be a tight squeeze for 8. Location very convenient to downtown. Kitchen equipment could be improved. Cutely decorated. Heavy use of febreze on bed linens.

Peace in the Mountains

This is a great house where you walk in and feel that the owners really want their renters to enjoy their stay. We rented during the autumn season. The porch had mums and the cutest little fall pillows on the chairs. The property is beautiful with wild flowers planted along the hill that were still in bloom. The house had a nice, clean smell upon entering and we saw so many more touches of fall inside. Anything from fall towels to fall throw pillows to fall arrangements and placemats. The house is adorable. The beds were comfortable. The view from the back porch is awesome especially at sunset. We cooked all meals at the house. Only a slight suggestion to the kitchen is the addition of a cutting board and maybe a butcher block of knives. Other than that, we had everything we needed to prepare meals. We took advantage of the hot tub and the beautiful claw foot bathtub with gorgeous views of the mountain. We did not really use the primary bathroom shower. This is just a note to the owners and not necessarily a complaint. I would get in touch with the cleaning company as they are not cleaning your grout in that shower. It really needed a good cleaning and was showing that pinky type of mold that can grow when it hasn't been cleaned. Other than that, the house was clean, comfortable, and we truly enjoyed our time there. I appreciate the touches the owner made to make renters feel at home. I would definitely stay there again. We had a great fall vacation!

2nd time here. Just as listed, especially enjoy mornings and evenings on the front deck overlooking the valley and mountains beyond. One small issue...need to replace toaster oven with a real toaster, results from the toaster oven varied.

Loved this house!

Our family of 5 adults stayed here during a family reunion in Waynesville and we loved it. The house is just as the photos depict it. We were in touch with the host and he was responsive and easy to work with. The view from the back porch is gorgeous.
