Lovely location

We stayed at The Boathouse & Rooms in Chester for one night and really enjoyed our visit. Parking was simple in the little courtyard (we arrived around 4:30pm on a Saturday) and check-in was quick and easy. We stayed in Room 11, which was spacious, spotless and comfortably warm. The bed was a good size, the TV decent, and there was plenty of storage. The bathroom was modern and well-kept too. If I had to pick faults, the WiFi was very slow – my 5G connection worked far better – and a lot of the TV channels didn’t seem to load. It was also a little noisy at times when other guests used the bathroom taps or toilets, but that’s to be expected in an older building. We had drinks outside on the terrace by the river, which was lovely even in October. The private huts are a great idea, though most of the heat lamps could do with a fix. Breakfast in the restaurant the next morning was excellent – everything tasted fresh and well-cooked, and the service from all the staff was friendly and efficient. Overall, it’s a charming place in a great location with plenty of character. A few small tweaks and it would be near perfect.

stayed for 2 nights midweek , upon check found the room unbearably hot, their is no A/C but a fan is provided. one small window that hardly opens . matress hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast , staff and adjacent pub all great.

Although the food was okay, the noise was extremely high. And, it was not the patrons who were making the noise. During breakfast, the staff cleaned the floor and vacuumed arround us. We felt we were in the way. All that should have been done prior to the patrons' arrival.

Great Location and Customer Service.

We always enjoy our stays at the Boathouse. Free parking is excellent and its only a short stroll into the centre of Chester. Its a great location. We stayed in a recently refurbished Superior Room which had air conditioning and a great riverside view. The food menu is also excellent and customer service is excellent too. Please thank Reilly and Charlotte for displaying the best customer service. We will be visiting again very soon.

The Boathouse is on the river and next to the Grosvenor Park with is very pretty and a nice area to walk through to get to the city centre. We watched a rowing club practise right from our table at dinner. The wait staff in the dining room were very friendly and accommodating. It was a convenient place to have dinner and the food was good. We didn’t opt for breakfast. Our room was stylishly decorated and had a king size bed which was a nice change from other places we had stayed. The shower was very good and the bathroom also was nicely decorated. My only comment is that it is very dimly lit. Great location and lovely room and restaurant!

So good we are booking for Christmas time

From the moment we checked in staff were exceptional, friendly and welcoming. The room was excellent. Everything you needed and so comfortable with brilliantly thought out decor. We ate in restaurant for an evening meal and a breakfast and again brilliant. Weather was wonderful so we made great use of outside floating beer garden. We liked it so much we are going to re-book for Christmas time. One last thing, the wallpaper in Ladies is brilliant

Lovely hotel/restaurant on river

Beautiful stay.Rooms spacious, food lovely and staff couldn’t have been more helpful.Only point I would make is parking bit of a nightmare.Only small amount of spaces for hotel guests and also anyone else just using pub.We arrived with someone in a wheelchair and not a space, only one disabled space which was used.Luckily I advised a staff member and she told us to park outside the room mum would be in until a space became free which was ideal.Apart from that a lovely weekend away

Riverside Hotel and restaurant/pub

The hotel is situated at the side of the river Dee, about a ten minute walk into Chester. At the rear is Grosvenor park. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was basic but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Large shower area with plenty of hot water. Usual hot drinks provided. Free car parking in front of the rooms is a bonus. We had breakfast in the bar area. There was a choice of cereals, fruit or cooked to order English which was good. Lovely walk down the river side into the city, or go through the park.
