Make sure you’re okay with potentially having bugs/insects in your room. We decided to leave the first night because the room was filled with highway of ants when we arrived. Cleanliness was also subpar, our bathroom had not been properly cleaned.

This hotel is a boutique hotel situated in a residential type area in the old city of Chiang Mai. It’s as if they took a home and then redid the whole thing. The room I was in was a little small, but it did have a loft and it’s OK. You know it was clean efficient. I think this hotel caters more to Young backpackers that’s not to say it wasn’t nice. It was just not a four star hotel. To be fair, I was in a jam at my other hotel where I couldn’t extend my stay so at the last minute I found this place and it was it was fine. I’m 64 now but I would’ve loved this place if I was 20 to 40 years old.

The hotel is lovely and simple, with very good service. However, perhaps because our room was on the ground floor next to the pool, it was quite damp and had a noticeable musty smell. Unfortunately, that made our stay a bit less pleasant.

Pastell is a perfect hotel if you are staying in Chiang Mai for a few days. It is out of the main busy areas so it is more quiet, if that is important to you as it was for us. The coffee and breakfast are complimentary and excellent quality. The staff is kind and accommodating.

I booked the pool access deluxe room hoping for a peaceful stay with occasional pool dips. But kids are constantly in the pool and extremely loud. You hear everything from your room and I hoped the staff would at least ask the other guests to be considerate of others as they were very disruptive and ruined my stay. So I would say the pool room isn’t worth it but my stay was nice, clean and safe, overall.

The room was so cute and the pool was beautiful. The free breakfast was delicious. One day we had to leave at 7 am and the hotel staff made our breakfasts to go which was so kind. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Excellent boutique hotel and very charming. The location is great and walking distance to all pointsof interest in the old town. The staff is very friendly and their breakfast is very good. The room wa svery spacious with two levels and perfect for our famoly of 4. I highly recommended.
